I've heard them called canape dishes. They are an 8 inch round plate with a small circular cut out on the edge.

Mine are square, but I think I got mine at Crate & Barrel.
If France I saw a metal one that clips onto regular dishes. Wish I could find them here!

If Crate & Barrel doesn't have them, try IWA. (I think it's International Wine Association). They have more stuff for wine than you can ever imagine, and I know exactly what you're talking about.

I found them in my local party supply store, and also in a package store that specializes in wine tastings.

never heard of them..why don't you just hold it in your hand and drink the wine like a normal person.
