forgot to say stpped driving as soon as I realised, got my dad to pick the car up and have replied to the DVLA for renewal. They usually send out a renewal form 90days before and when I asked why I hadn't got it , they said they couldn't be responisle for the royal mail. Have a hectic year. lost my job. Then got new job, but have taken ages to like it here. And have been changed to an even better insulin for my diabetes so levels are better than ever.

You need to renew it as soon as possible.

Contrary to what one of the other answers says, your insurance will NOT be void. If you check the wording, you will see that it says something like ".... providing that person holds, or has held, a licence to drive this type of vehicle and is not banned from holding such a licence..."

In other words, it covers this eventuality.

If your licence had a 4 year period of validity, it is your responsibility to abide by this. So far as I am aware, reminders are not issued - and they were also not issued when UK licences lasted for only 3 years.

I hope this helps.....
