I'd want to lighten and brighten it up, using nautical as inspiration. Red, navy blue, and white. Weathered wood furniture for warmth. White doors with white trim. White blinds or shutters on the windows with white trim.
If your furniture is gray, add pillows and throws in navy and red. Mix solids and stripes.
Display a bowl of white sea shells (buy them from craft stores, Ebay, tourist villages - tell friends/family you collect white shells). Put sand in a glass vase or candle holder with white candles, stones/clear glass pebbles, sea shells. Keep your eyes open for wooden shore bird decoys, they're really cute displayed as a grouping or here and there.

I think a moroccan style room looks very nice with gray. The marroon and gold colors off set the gray and create a warm exotic feeling. Try adding sconces to the wall as well. If the whole room is gray, maybe paint a marroon stripe down one of the walls or depending on how large the room is, paint one wall marroon while leaving the rest gray.

I like grey! I would go with more modren decor, like black leather furnature with cast iron tables. Maybe brushed steel lamps. Use black and white prints for the walls with black frames. Also a large framed mirror. Use cream color accents, pillows, drapes, throws...it will add warmth the the room.

Grey can be very nice. I would use black framed mirrors on the wall, black frames, black lamp shades, these could be mixed in with silver or crystal items. Good luck!
