Friend has not long taken over this dog, and is not 100% sure whether it is spayed or not, or if done, at what age. Former owner has died.

If she was spayed, she would not be spotting. Take her to a vet and he can probably tell with an exam if she is spayed or not. Since you can't verify the history with the former owner, the vet would be the next best thing.

If you are not sure if the dog has been spayed i would reccomend visiting your vet for a scan to check her out. Pyometria is very common and dangerous in an older *****.

The easy way is to turn the dog over and look carefully at the stomach. You should be able to see the scar.

None of mine ever have, think vet should check her over. It may be a sign of something else, and at that age you want to keep her healthy.

No, not normal. There could be a urinary tract infection or something of that nature, so you should have a vet check her out. Good luck.

No. If she is bleeding, take her in to be seen.
