I support the troops not the Bush Administration, nor the Neocon chickenhawks pretending to be Veterans on this site.

THE SOLDIER

It is the soldier, not the protestor, that guarantees our right to freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the priest, that guarantees our right to freedom of religion.

It is the soldier, not the journalist, that guarantees our right to freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the police officer, that guarantees our right to due process of law.

It is the soldier, not the judge, that guarantees our right to a fair trial.

And it is the soldier; the one who honors the flag, protects the flag, salutes the flag, raises the flag at the beginning of the day, takes the flag down at the end of the day, folds the flag, and safeguards the flag, that guarantees our right to burn the flag.

Freedom is not free. It comes at a great cost. Without men and women who love freedom so much that they are willing to stand up and fight for it, and yes, even die for it, there is no freedom.

As a proud member of the U.S. Armed Forces, every time I see troop-bashing going on here I get angry but I also have to smile a little, because I know the truth: Were it not for me and my brothers and sisters in uniform, over 3 million of us in all, the military malcontents would not have the privilege of criticizing us. So for those of you anti-military types, before you go bashing a group of people and an institution that you don't understand, take a minute to think about how you're spitting in the faces of the people who stand between you and a death sentence for speaking out against the government.

so which you assert the defense force must be used to tension Afghanistan to award contracts to American businesses? I no longer think of the war is available to win. I consistently had some doubts approximately it because of the fact the targets have been by no skill of course defined. replaced into the war began as a punishment for the Afghani's allowing bin weighted down into their u . s ., for the skill to run a gas line by the area or for administration of a copper mine? no one has the reality, and if somebody did come to a sort to tell the reality I doubt if it would be universal. i think of the war ought to end now. It replaced into the incorrect war on the incorrect time. in spite of the undeniable fact that if the war is going to proceed then the full u . s . must be mobilized for it and it is going to be accelerated right into a international conflict. Win or lose are the only 2 ideas.

I agree. Personally, I think Y!A is a magnet for the ignorant. There are SOME people (from all sides of the political spectrum) who are very intelligent...but the stupid people scream the loudest. I'm just trying to scream louder than they do.
I'm surprised that my blood pressure isn't through the roof when I read the abuse towards the troops on here. Those people generally get a "scream" for an answer. I wish I could make my font bigger when I reply to them.

Excellent point and one not lost on the vast majority of Americans. No one blames our troops for the Iraq mess. The only problem is the ones to blame wont take responsibility for it (see Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al.)
