I don't think she can actually diagnose pneumonia but she can probably tell if there is breathing complications, which would lead to belive there might be pneumonia.

An electronic stethoscope (or stethophone) overcomes the low sound levels by electronically amplifying body sounds. Stethoscopes are not only useful for doctors, but home mechanics, exterminators, spying and any number of other uses. Standard stethoscopes provide no amplification which limits their use. This circuit uses op-amps to greatly amplify a standard stethoscope, and includes a low pass filter to remove background noise.

Yes, pneumonia is water/liquid in the lungs and it is easily heard by a trained physician with a stethoscope.

No. However they can detect a breathing problem in the lungs.
Not a Dr. but the last time I went my lungs were clear, even on very deep breaths. He then asked me did I ever have problems breathing. I said no. ike an idiot I never asked him why he said that, and i am still a little about it. I go back in late November for my check-up..He is a Cardiologist.

She can but, to get a definite diagnosis, let your doc do it. Diagnosing yourself with the help of someone else, even if they are a nurse, can be dangerous. They don't have the same medical training in most cases; you could be taking things, if you have it, that you don't need.

If you have fluid in your lungs, big chances are you may have bronchopneumonia. And also if it has been "going around", they often tell the symptoms from looking at people.
