I am in fairly good shape but I like to splurage about once a week by eating some grease in the morning. And I have been eating a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. But someone told me that those sausage patties are the worse thing in the world and I would be better off eating bacon.

Is that true?

Help!

Sausage has a lot of other processed meats in it...almost kinda like Bologna and hot dogs. That's why that person told you it's bad because it's got so much other stuff in it. Bacon is just bacon. No added or artificial meats like sausage, it's just bacon.
So yeah, in a way, bacon is better! At least you know that you're eating just bacon and not a bunch of fillers!

If it's once a week then I wouldn't worry too much about it, but it's not a healthy choice. Here's nutritional info:

McDonald's Sausage McMuffin, 450 calories, 42% fat
Jack in the Box Sausage Biscuit, 740 calories, 66% fat
Jack in the Box Extreme Sausage, 670 calories, 64% fat
Carls Jr Breakfast Saus Sandwich, 610 calories, 66% fat
Burger King Double Croissanwich, 680 calories, 67% fat

That fat mostly comes in the form of butter and grease for grilling, "sauces" and cheese -- plus saturated fat from the sausage. Switching bacon isn't going to make that much of a difference.

Eggs & ham are favorites on the Kimkins diet. By cutting out the carbs we enjoy excellent weight loss.

I would go with the sausage, it's good protein. I think bacon is more fat than the sausage. I would stick with what i like anyway as long as your not eating it too much i would enjoy it.

Both are high in fat and calories. However, bacon would probably be your best choice out of the two.
Try canadian bacon or ham on your sandwich for lower calories and fat.
It is really good!

I believe you are better off eating bacon, especially if you make it in the Mike. Put the strips on paper plates and paper towels to absorb the grease. Make them "well-done" so they are crispy, and the fat is left in the paper towels.

Just eat whatever tastes better. If you're splurging, does it really matter if it's healthy?
