could this be the main reason people are against homosexual marriages ?

It makes sense.

If sodomy is sinful, and sex outside of marriage of any kind is sinful...and marriage makes the sex okay...it does stand to reason. Very insightful.

Where in the world did you get the idea that anything that happens in a marital bed is not sunful? I don't know of any religion that believes that. The very idea is absrud on its face. A husband could rape his wife, but because they're married, it's not a sin?

Even ignoring such an obvious example, many religions have rules as to what even a husband and wife can do without it being sinful. I have never heard a religion teach that anything that consenting adults do is not sinful.

If two people of the same sex were ' married ' the bible would still say the same things and does not change to suit people's attitudes. Homos and unnatural fleshly desires have existed for a long time from the angels that came down to earth pre-flood to Genesis 19. to the time of the Israelites where Levitcus chapter 18 v 22
In the first century 1 Corinthians 6 v 9,
Just because people get married they will not have god's approval. God instituted the first mariage arrangement in Genesis 2 v 24, 25
God's standards do not ever change. His righteous standards never will drop to suit man's logic.

Homosexuals not being married is not the reason why it is considered a sin.
It is the act of homosexuality. It does not matter whether they are married or not. The bible states clearly that God does not allow people to do these kind of things. SO no it is not the main reason.
But.... it is only the act itself that is considered as sinful. If someone is a born homosexual it does noet mean that he or she is evil. God does not hate people, he hates what they do.

And, just of the record, marriage was never mend to be for persons of the same sex anyways. IT does not even occur amongst aninmals unless there are really extreme conditions and even then...... So... why should human beings do it as it does not seem natural....

i don't beleive in your theory of anything done in the marital bed is not sinful because people have affairs, and are then called adulters, and we as people in society look down on them for having these affairs, if everything done in the martial bed is not sinful then affairs adultery and unfaithfulness is just a figment of our imaginations, to answer the real question, if you feel like your doing something wrong stop it, why do gays always have to justify everything they do and act as if they are up to no wrong that their love is ok then feel the need to have if honoured and justified by man, if it feels wrong stop it, simple. i really hate the two facedness of gay people and their kin and supporters, even you preach the message that your all wrong, just find youself a less womanly woman or a less manly man and settle. simple. sorry if i have offended you, or anyone else but it has been along time since i have had this gay converstion and that is the conclusion that i have come to cause it really seems that way to me.

When you say 'people are against homosexual marriages', I think you'll find that homosexuals aren't against it. Or as a religious person, do you not consider homosexuals as 'people' ?
As for sin, I've found that living in it ain't so bad. The rest of the really sinful stuff that goes on in our bed is absolutely fantastic.

(PS. I'm hetero, but nothing against gays)

That's the kind of belief that led husbands to rape their wife .......
this is something the clergy turned a blind eye to and society believing the wife had a duty etc etc.
So the argument is flawed.......because sin takes place within a marriage bed. If no concent cannot be sanctioned. I know an elderly woman who had 9 children and could notuse contraception because against the laws of the church and if she shut shop her hub helped himself. What kind of a marrriage bed was that.?

Marriage is between three people. It was designed as a way for people to come together in God and become a family. If homosexuals can get God in the mix then I would love to see it. For God to condone homosexual marriage He would have to accept it as part of His creation. Did God create homosexuals? This is the question. He created the human body as a vehicle. He created the soul as a character, will, intellenge and a mind. If that soul is a reflection of God as it is suppose to be, then is God in favor of homosexuality? I think not. A mind that is distorted into thinking somehow they are in the wrong body sounds to me like a mistake. I don't think God makes mistakes. I have never seen an apple on a pear tree, have you? What they call homosexuality is nothing more then sexual addiction. If the soul, is getting its direction from the Spirit of God then wouldn't the character start to be like God in Spirit? I think that the problem is the soul, the mind, intellect, character and will is getting it's direction from the flesh and the World and is becoming something it has learned, if it is having desires for the same sex.

You ask a very valid question, and applaud you for that. Its gotten my noodle to itching. My answer, no, that is not why I am against gay marriage (it has to do with legal issues since marriage is a religious term, then if the law states that gays can "marry" than they can force pastors to marry them or sue for discrimination) Gay sex is immoral because God gave us sex with "rules" When we follow these rules we experience sex the way it was meant to be (which is AWESOME) Anything is not allowed in the marriage bed, we are not to do things that make us lust, or break the bond of love between our spouse. This is not limited to or including anything. Oral sex is OK, anal sex is OK BDSM, that is tricky depending.

Have you heard of man married to a woman asking her to have anal sex? Well, this is the same thing as gays do. With important difference. First couple is A-OK, perfect, the second is of devil. Ah....

Anything done in a marital bed is no one else's business, whether heterosexual or homosexual. And I don't think personally that gay / lesbian couples are sinning. It's who they are and who are we to judge. That will come when they get to heaven and we shouldn't be passing judgement on them now, or in their own bed.
