There could be a variety of reasons. There could be a legitimate reason why he may not have called you. He could have had something come up and he just could get away to call. It could also be fear or the fact that a lot of guys don't like to talk on the phone for longer than 5 minutes.

Aside of an emergency, there really is no excuse not to call when you tell a woman you are calling. If he isn't calling, call him up.

Because they are jerks!!! Men do not realize the impact it has on a womans self esteem when they pull that crap. If it happened more to them maybe, just maybe, they wouldn't do it to us. How long has it been since this particular guy said he would call? If it has only been a couple of days I wouldn't get worried, if it is more than a week, you might as well forget about him. If you want to find out if there is a problem your best bet would be to contact him and get it over with. Good Luck:) Hey believe it or not there are plenty of fish on the sea!!!

Maybe you're looking for men in the wrong places. If this happens to you often, you may wnat to think about what it is you're reallly looking for and if you're going about that search in the right way.

If you're just looking to have some fun, then he probably is too. And guess what...having to tell a woman to her face that you won't be calling is not fun. It may be childish, but no more childish than most interactions between "adults."

I don't say that if I don't mean it. It's really not that difficult to think of something else to say. I have been told that by a lady friend before though who never called, so it's not just a guy thing.

all of the above answers have some truth to them...

Additionally, you could have feelings for the person, but not at the same level or intensity, and not calling is a way to chill the other person's feelings, or a passive-agressivbe way to indicate you aren't as interested.

To call it lying, and apply it to all men in a broad generaliztion, is a disservice to everyone....

Just to keep you hanging in there, it`s a form of control males (some) seem to relish. Ditch em.
As the sayin goes:
"You gotta stop hanging around with all the clown`s and the wanksters, good girls gotta get down with the gangsters"

a couple of the answers here were good. basically people would rather speak in platitudes than to speak what's on their mind. they're cowards. it's not only men though....:)

did you see the episode of seinfeld when ross couldn't get away from that lady without saying, "i'll call you" even though he didn't want to see her again? it was funny, and totally on topic

depends on the situation, sometimes its better than not saying you arent going to call even though they dont have intentions to call you someone might say that. or maybe something came up or they just didnt feel like talking.

It's normal - if a fat friend asked you if she looked fat, would you be honest?

No one is going to say, "I'm NOT calling you"...men and women both play this game. Sad, but true.
