Not necessarily. Many people don't know of or see the connection between various Scriptures. Also, are you able to remember every verse of every book in the Scriptures at any instant? Sometimes we all need reminding.

It is like a jigsaw puzzle. Two adjacent pieces look similar - have similar coloration, etc. Looking at either piece separately does little to understand what the picture looks like. But put the two pieces together and a comprehensive picture starts to emerge.

Let me see if I got this right, You read a scripture & don't understand it so you ask a question about the scripture you read & we give you an answer by using another scripture, You ask is this kind of dumb. NO. It seems like you don't understand a verse, & yet you want a Christin to answer your question concerning that verse, Then we bring in another verse to FURTHER explain it to you, for every question of the bible, There is only One True answer, But many verses pointing to that One true answer. anything else will be only peoples ideals. So if you have a question about a scripture, Then we have to answer it by THE SCRIPTURES & not put a carnal answer in there.

Sometimes it certainly seems that way. Often I write my questions about scripture in the margin in colored pencil and date it. I will go to the Intranet and see if I can find the answers, I pray - sometimes it goes unanswered for a long time. On some I finally see the answer, others are still unanswered.

Sort of like 2 + 2 = 4 - this is a simple equation we know the answer is 4. Scripture is like math to me - the answer is always there but sometimes I just have not figured out how to solve it.

You control your questions.
You don't control the answers.
You are free to question further, ask again.
There is no final answer, no last question.

If the question raises questions,
then that can be better than an answer
for your quest for wisdom, guidance and knowledge
is a journey that never ends.

The scriptures raise questions as well as answer them.
You are wanting a concrete, pat answer,
or you are expecting one, I should say,
but that is the way school lessons are taught.
Life is not that way, nor is right and wrong.

You asked the first question to seek knowledge.
Now, you get an answer that sends you else where,
perhaps deeper into the question. Go with it.
You are a serious person, able to go deeper.
You have come to this list asking more.

You ask us on the net, and our answer is
to ask yourself if any one answer is enough,
or should you search on in the scriptures?
Keep asking, and seeking, and finding.
Be forever philosophical!

It would depend on the question. Say, you're talking about something that directly relates to something written earlier then using scripture would be your best bet. But often I find that using scripture against scripture promotes circular thinking. Besides, there are so many versions of the Bible out there, you never know what you might turn up.

Not quite sure of your question, but let me try this answer.
When we Read the scriptures with a cynical heart we are NOT understanding the message.

The Bible should start with a beginners course that says: Watch your mouth, Be friendly and helpful, Be grateful for every day and its many gifts. THAT way you would start benefiting from being a nice person, therefore enjoying the rewards others offer YOU for your kindness..... melting your heart a bit..... and THEN you can FEEL the Bible instead of spending so much TIME waiting "to get it".

What? do you want me to answer a question on scripture with a passage from the National Inquisitor? Of cource not, if you ask a question about scripture expect a scriptural response.

No, sometimes another scripture clarifys it and makes it understandable. Or so I am learning. You may have read it before but didn't apply it that way before.
some I have read a lot of times like meek inherit the earth, didn't know that the earth would be inhabited. Thought it was just heaven and hell. Hell being the earth.

NOOOO. Answering a question about Scripture with Scripture is the most accurate to answer.

Yes it is. What most that answer this sort of question are doing is trying to use other ways to say the same thing. Instead a question should be answered with an explanation of what is meant in a particular passage.

If you have anything you need answered or explained e-mail me.
