If you knew you couldnt be with a girl you have been friends with for a long time and you know really care about her, would you still be friends with her? And if you did not want to be friends anymore would you tell her or just disappear without a word?

i'd do everything i could to keep her in my life....just realize its never going to happen and focus on being her friend.....forget about being her "lover" and just remember what a great person she is and how much you care about her.....
how can you just leave her? ........if shes that important to you make the sacrifice to keep her in your life.......
but if you really cant take it anymore.......just tell her youre not going to be friends anymore, but dont mention your feelings.......
disappearing would probably hurt her feelings.....

Honestly, if that would have happen to me, I can still be friends with the girl but I don't think I can allow myself to be too close to her because I may continue to care or fall in love with her. I probably will keep some distance. It is mean to disappear instantly. Keeping in touch from time to time will do. Who knows, if the guy limits the time he spends with the girl, the girl might realize that she also cares for the boy. At least the boy is just a call away, right? We never can tell can we?

He hasn't accepted being just friends with you, so he disappears w/out a word hoping to make you jealous, hurt you (sort of) in an attempt to make you come looking for him once you realize you want him. Let him come back to you, b/c if you go find him, he will only assume that you have decided you want him, and not just as a friend.

ok.. i know you said guys only, but this is an easy question for girls to answer too, and this way you'll get a females perspective too. tell her, you cant hide your feelings, you dont KNOW until you tell her, and if you really care about her, you'll tell her, and risk losing her as a friend, but she deserves to know how you feel, especially if you gonna 'just disapper'. Just talk to her, if she laughs in your face, or dosnt want to be friends anymore, it was worth it, cause at least she knows how you feel. maybe she feels the same way.

You can never have too many friends. Just let it stay friendly. You never know when she might lift you up on a down day. If you don't want to be friends, it's better to never actually say it. Sometimes friendships fade and that's ok.

I have dated a girl I was friends with, I did break up with her, and I do still try to be her friend. And if the island you're from is Long Island, then the guy might be me!

What is the problem with just being friends with a girl with no other strings attached (sex, dating, etc) to the friendship? Just be friends and leave out the drama!

well i will be completely honest and tell you that i have like one of my best frinds she was the one person i actually felt unfelt felings fo but when i asked her out she said she just wanted to be friends and i respected that and after that we both treated it like it was nothing and continued to be just as flirty as ever even though shes gotta man now and i just do my thing i respect and love her as a friend and thats it but if we were to not be frinds anymore i supposer i'd have to talk to her first before just not being friends anymore

when that happens it hurts like hell and most guys don't like to vulnerable like, defiantly in front of the girl of their dreams !
