If Creationists insist on teaching their Bible stories in public school science classrooms, why don't they just agree to reciprocate and allow Evolution to be taught in Sunday School?

Is that so much to ask?

Why don't we teach animism/shamanism in Medical school and germ theory in Bible class? That the Sun orbits the earth in Astronomy class?

About as relevant don't you think?

Creation can't be taught in science class because it is not a science. It is an idea, a religion, whatever. I'm not saying you can't allow the idea to be heard in school. Maybe it can be taught in literature. Science is for ideas that have been tested through scientific methods. Creation can't be taught that way. Doesn't mean creation is wrong (though I don't believe in it) but it just isn't science. Just the same, Sunday School is for Christians (or whatever religion with whatever "school" they have) to teach religion, not science. So no, there is no reason a church should have to teach kids things they don't believe either. (even though they are wrong ;)

Oh and after reading some answers from creationist here I have to say that telling people evolution is wrong with no proof is ridiculous. At least we look at things and try to figure out what happened over time. Evolution is real. We know that, maybe just not the details of how it happens and how fast. It's better than just saying "Crap, I don't know so it must be GOD!" I mean really, who created God? Hmmm, if we needed to be "created" because we couldn't just be here, well then God needed to be created too, no?... sorry to offend, I just get mad at the whole religion crap. Who's to say the Greeks and Romans were wrong. Maybe we oughta bow down to Zeus, hmmm??

i'm a Christian creationist. i think of that God spoke the universe into existence. yet i understand the Bible says in Gen. a million:eleven-12, 24-25 that God spoke to the earth to create plant and animal existence. If which potential it developed, it is superb with me. that doesn't negate God commencing the entire subject. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it rather says that God formed guy from the airborne dirt and dust of the floor and breathed existence into him (Gen. 2:7). it is what separates human beings from different animals and why human beings have souls yet animals do no longer.

Yes, I can and do get along with those who buy the theory of evolution as being true. Secondly, I don't want my bible stories being taught in school, but I do want, if evolution is taught, other theories taught alongside it. Kids should learn HOW to think, not WHAT to think in school.

Because public schools are funded by taxpayers. Therefore, kids should be taught every possibility as far as the beginnings of life and the origins of the planet. That includes creationism.

Since the public school setting is a public, taxpayer-supported setting, it would be an act of viewpoint discrimination to leave creationism out of the curriculum.

Sunday school, in contrast, is not public. It's not funded by taxpayers. It's entirely private, meaning that they can teach (or not teach) whatever they want.

That's the difference, which renders your analogy a faulty one.

Uh, what school did you go to? I wasn't taught either in school, so no matter how much it's "Insisted" it's not going on (at least not in my area). I think both should be taught, but not forced. And no, evolution should not be taught in bible school. That's forcing.

You're asking science to stop being science just to make some people happy. Yes its too much to ask.

Impossible unless the history of the world is written again.

Yes.

Since each camp is assured of how "right" they are, it follows that the other side is "wrong"; therefore, there is no need to teach something that is "wrong"

Listen here dumb-nut, your question really doesn't make sense, why would somebody who believes in evolution go to sunday school????

Besides, at least i accept my faith in God to be a religion, you evolutionist don't want to admit that yours is the same, just a religion, maybe at best a fairy tale for big people!
