Do you think Britain should start putting harsher restrictions on allowing imigrants into the country ......

I got sent the link bellow this morning and was shocked to find that the exact same number of imigrants entered the country as the population of the city i live (Chester)....

what about all the brits who move to other countries, take the houses away from the locals, never manage to learn the local language? At least, most of the immigrants into the uk come here to work and pay their taxes.

Note to "adventsatanist" Ive already got you tabbed as one of those middle class girls with that "i love everyone" idealism (usually the result of one too many disco biscuits) I have travelled extensively and love experiencing new cultures but how can you not see that some cultures are not meant to be living together. Somehow i doubt that most of these people are not really that interested in exploring british culture, they could do that on a fortnights holiday. Like most people i agree that the world would be c**p if everyone was the same. But certain cultures suddenly living face to face with another culture a very bad idea, and there are numerous examples of this. Intolerance in this country has risen because of how far this country is being pushed. And on July 7th last year that intolerance went through the roof. Stop being a dangerous liberal and wake up!!!

I'm a little sick and tired of so many 'loopy left' idiots claiming that em-migrating Brits are in some way the same scourge that immigrants to our shores are. Most Brits em migrate legally, at retirement age (therefore they will not be depriving a native of a job) and more often than not with a large sum of cash (usually from a house sale) which will be for the benefit of the community. This might also put pay to the widely held and largely wrong 'loopy left' misconception that all Brits (below middle class) are inherently racist and insular.

Sorry too late!!!!!!! should have thought of that when they allowed the Empire Windrush to dock at Tilbury in 1948. Since then it's been a slow down hill run all the way till today ,when the government admitted 1,500 a day. I repeat 1,500 a day.have been coming in in the past year. Line up please for your benefits, housing is on the left. Will the last British person turn out the light as they leave!!!!!

Yes it is time.

I've been through the reasons before. Many of the people who support immigration have good jobs, comfortable houses, enough money to live and don't realise how it is for many other British people.

I know loads of well skilled and qualified people who do low paid jobs and struggle to get by because there aren't enough decent jobs to go round so I do not accept this crap about how we "need" immigrants to work in MaccyD's etc. All the people working in my nearest MaccyD's are locals. And most of them don't WANT to be there but have to do it to make ends meet (you can't pay a mortgage on £50 a week dole).

Employers would rather take on a Pole who'll do the job for £4 an hour than pay £10 an hour to a well trained and skilled British person. That is a FACT. People who don't beleive it are either deluding themselves or ignorant.

Plus the lack of affordable housing the UK is a real problem. When I read about immigrants being given council housing (when there is already not enough to go round) it makes me mad. What about the homeless families living in B&Bs?

Enough is enough. These people come from economically unstable countries and flood over here because we have NHS, welfare benefits etc. It is not a fair exchange because no Brit wants to go to their country. Its just take take take.

The government need to start putting their own people FIRST! Because we are the ones who WON'T be voting for them in the next election.

I think we can and should limit how many people come into the country as now the UK is having problems looking after its naturals.

What we could do is limit the amount per year and only a certain proportion of those can be refugees. Others that want to settle here should have something positive to offer the country. A trade or vocation, with no previous convictions and a record of their life that can be back traced.

That way we would't be such a soft touch to all and sundry whilst still showing humanity to those who do need help.

So many brits are leaving due to the MASS influx of immigrants into their communites and just generally the way the country is going to pot in many different ways (i could go on all day)!!! I should hope the immigrants pay taxes just like the rest of the population does??? Ha Ha

Anyway you'll all be running scared soon when the working class communites (which have been flooded) conclude enough is enough!!! Its not far off beleive me...The anger is boiling just beneath the surface

A poster from the UK seems to think differently...Cheryl D
posted this answer to another question about the US,
in part
(Other countries in the west maintain a good balance of both. Here in the UK we have an excellent education and health system as we maintain a good standard of learning and EVERYONE has FREE access to healthcare, while at the same time we have terrorist deterance that is working but not making people afraid. But now your government is fencing you in, making you more afraid. Are you the animals in the zoo, with everyone else in the world peering in, pointing and laughing? Maybe not yet, but how long before you are? )

How wonderful she must feel. But it seems she may not live in the same UK as other more alert/aware people live.
One should not be judgmental.
I agree that a country must maintain its OWN people first .

It saddens me to see how intolerant you are of other people... one day you will realise, I hope, that you cannot escape the fact that there WILL be different people on this Earth, and by denying your fellow human beings the chance to explore your culture, you will be seen by many as racist. Why do you look at other people as a negative thing? Why do you hate them so much? Are they really any different from you? We are all of the same species. How would you feel if I denied you the sweet opportunity to explore a new country, and meet the people of that country?

To me, though i haven't travelled to Britain or any other country in the world, i believe the question should either be yes or no. WHY?

If it is in the best interest (political, economical, educational, social, religous, etc) of their citizen and country, I say YES but if otherwise, I say NO.

A country should know what is best for her people and herself, especially a matured country like Britain.
