I was born and grew up in Birmingham and Pype hayes was always considered the best display, we used to watch the fireworks from the road so we didnt have to pay and then go into the fair when they had finished as then you could get free admission.
For the last 5 years however I have been living in Dudley and the display at Himley Hall is the biggest in the counry. It is attented by 30,000+ people so is very busy, but that is because of how good it is.
The dispaly this year is called "Stictly Fireworks" based on Strictly Dancing but is not all ballroom music.
They set the fireworks off to music and they link together. They are set off from either side of the lake and it has been reported in the paper that they have spent £20,000 alone on Fireworks.
There is also a big fair and Beacon radio put on a mobile radio so that you are entertained while awaiting the display.
Previous years displays have been based on Harry Potter, Super heroes, Lord of the Rings etc..... Very very good. Bit of a trek from Birmingham though. There are free buses put on in and around Dudley that take you there and back, dropping you right at the gates. So if you drive you could always drive to a bus pick up point. Or you canpark at Himley for a charge per car.
See the enclosed link, I asure you, you wont be disappointed.

Look in the local paper if you want to pay to see fireworks. Two alternatives - buy some and do your own display in the back/front garden (make sure you do it safely), or find a place to stand were you've got a good view of the night sky and watch everyone else's for free.

actually no longer! the reason being very basic - guy Falkes replaced right into a Catholic Englishman who led an attack against the English corporation in 1605 (residences of Parliament, Westminster, London). It replaced into foiled - had it succeeded in killing King James a million and his parliament, it would in all probability have had affected the English profession of eire and can have extra approximately a withdrawal of English troops interior the early seventeenth century! it could even have shifted the soundness of potential in Europe however the island of eire replaced into, and nonetheless is, a Catholic u . s . by skill of majority, and can have profited from this. needless to say, it could properly have extra approximately an extremely bloody civil war in Britain, eire and Europe. I frequently ask your self what the Scots concept, or think of, of the gunpowder plot, because of the fact that they have been in an identical difficulty decrease than English profession.

When I lived in Brum there was always a good display at Canon Hill Park. Or you could see if there's anything going on in the City Centre!

I live in Birmingham! I would go to the City Centre, that's what i would do! Go to the Bullring and check it out around there, or go to the parks, they might have a display there somewhere!
