thyatmar the surname.where does it originate from?

grandmother believed to be german,surname thyatmar but cant find any names even like it.any ideas anyone please

I searched Ellis Island, and Family Search, and the internet, and found nothing.

My only creative thought is about the spelling of the name. Not knowing when your grandmother came to this country, or if born here, or where you are makes this thought more cloudy - but try near spellings. Look at Ellis Island arrivals, but in Thyatmar for a search and accept near spellings. You can do this on Family Search also.

Many times new arrivals get recorded differently than they spell their name. Try other ports of entry also.
