first off water in dreams signifies emotions .
to be swimming in an ocean in very deep water shows that you have great emotional depth to your character,that you are a survivor and can indeed go very deep with your emotional attitudes.
another thing that is of great importance is how does it make you FEEL ???
if your afraid while your out there [you wake up feeling like it was a nightmare ]then possibly in a past life you had difficulties with water possibly drowning or even a survival aspect where you did survive some sort of boat accident .
but regardless it does show you are a survivor emotionally .not a bad dream .

There is a very valid tradition of dream interpretation in Islam. Without knowing more about you and about certain circumstances of the dream (such as the time of night that you dreamed it, the phases of the moon and etc.) I cannot give you a complete interpretation.
That not withstanding, the usual interpretation of this type of dream is, as long as the dreamer is not drowning and the sea is calm, that one is setting out on a journey which involves receiving an "ocean" of spiritual blessing,
Deep waters, such as you have dreamt about represent the wealth of inner spiritual knowledge that is available to us all. Each religion draws on this same knowledge which is infinitely vast and timeless. To gain this knowledge we must set out on a journey of the soul that connects us with that knowledge on a deep inner level. Repetitive dreams also have significance based on other factors.
If the dreamer is drowning in this water, there is another interpretation. But that is not the case here.

No serious question is "silly". I am not a dream master. my experience is that God is the ocean of pure consciousness.It appears to me you are greatly blessed,do not fear losing your self in GOD. Hi, I often had similiar dreams except I was either swimming in a pool or diving into the pool from high up in the are. Somtimes the water was clear or dark. Hope this helps.

Yes, this is very real dream which shows our position in this world. We are in the midst of a horrible ocean of birth and death and we are sinking deeper and deeper.
