What drives them ? a paycheck!
and be thankful for them because by law, someone has to do it

don't be so freaked out...the life/soul has "left the building" already so you are technically carving and exploring a carcass...kinda like biology

Cutting open dead people when it's your job is not evil. It's important to know the cause of death. It could mean solving a murder crime and putting the true "evil" person behind bars. Examination of organs could also help save lives in the future. It's not possible to safely examine internal organs by cutting them apart on live people to learn how they work, but doing this on dead specimines could help further reasearch to cure all kinds of deadly conditions ie cancer.
Medical students and PT and OT students take gross anatomy to learn hands on how the body works so they can help people get better. Surgical students practice on cadavers. Would rather they do that than practice on me. All of that studying is for the good not evil.
Now...if some sicko is doing it in they're basement after they've killed a person...that's evil!!!

Of course they aren't. What's wrong with cutting up dead bodies? They're DEAD - they don't need their bodies any more.

People who perform autopsies are doing their job, and a very useful jobs too (and one I'm grateful for).

It's all done in the name of science, sometimes they find out things, that would never be discovered if the autopsy wasn't done.
No, I do not believe the majority of people could work in that field.
Hope this helps.

I don't see this as evil, but wanting to understand the body and what happened. Since the body is dead, then what does it really matter? It will be raised again one day, from corruption.

I couldn't do that. But we need this people to do autopsies so we know if that person died of foul play which is important to know. When I die I sure don't want my body all carved up though.

Read a Patricia Cornwell novel about Dr. Kay Scarpetta - she's the novels star and a medical examiner who does autopsies. Quite interesting. God bless you. ~Nise~

Some people are just compelled to do certain things. I would rather them be using the dead than the living.

Well, if some bastard poisoned me, I know I'd want to get my revenge from the grave. I'd imagine they'd think the person would want the same. Don't you think? There's nothing evil about that. I don't think most people would want that job though.

No it's not evil. It's morbid but I think it would be a very interesting job if I could do it without throwing up or passing out.
