People who are originally from countries that are hotter usually have darker skin, such as the Aboriginals and the Maori tribes of Aus and NZ, the African people and Indiginous American people having quite dark skin, and those from the medditeranian being 'tanned' and then those naturally from upper Europe such as England, France and the Netherlands being paler, as they have less sun than other places.

Well, this is known as "unity in diversity", The way all human beings are born is the same, a man and a women is required, every where it is the women who bear the child, the internal compositions like heart, kidney, lungs etc are the same and they function similar whether they are born in India, USA or UK. But it is unique that each one is different from the other, there is a distinct personality difference between people. It is amazing that the face of all human beings average between 18 to 19 Square inch. In this, the position of the nose, eyes, ears, mouth, lips etc are situated almost at the same place for every one, but you see each one can be differently identified, on the other hand if you ask the best painter to paint 1000 nos of different faces in a canvass, you bet he will not be able to draw more than a 100 and the 101 face will be a striking resemblence of his already drawn face. There it is this is the ability of God. This diversity is seen in our climate also, you see in places which are far away from the equator the climate is cool and the exposure of people to sunlight is limited and they acquire a white complexion. In places like Africa through which the Equator passes the climates are extreme and people are exposed to sunlight and this ultra voilet rays shades the clour and they acquire a black complexion. The occupation of the people will slowly change their physical composition as well, check out with Mr. Darwin if you doubt me.

One theory is that people are different colors because of the climate they originated from. More sun meant darker skin.

Regarding Mankind, GOD says in the HOLY QURAN, HE created man with clay/dirt. So earth got different colour mud/sand/dirt/clay, in this way Mankind created in different different color and after death mankind will return back to dirt and then GOD will resurrect whole mankind on the day of judgement for the accountability
GOD created mankind for test and final destination will be either ETERNAL PARADISE or HELL WITHOUT CHOICE
GOD already knows whom HE will be going to admit in paradise or hell. But people of HELL will say to GOD you have not done justice why you have not admitted us in paradise. That is why GOD created EARTH for the TEST for mankind only for excuse. If people believe in GOD and obey HIM, HE will admit them in paradise otherwise hell. That is how people of HELL will not have any excuse in the hereafter.
