It depends on what KIND of hair you have. But washing your hair every day strips the natural oils and nutrients that keep it strong and healthy. If you feel that you must wash it every day, make sure that you are using a good conditioner each time you wash, and maybe think about adding a weekly deep treatment. It will help keep your hair from breaking and drying out.

Normal hair can hold up to daily washings as long as you make sure you use a good conditioner to keep it moisturized.
Oily hair might need to daily washings to keep it from looking greasy, but again a good conditioner on the ends to help keep it from breaking.
If your hair is dry, then you should not wash it every day. The hair needs to extra oils and natural nutrients to keep it healthy. Dry hair will not only break easily, it also can cause split ends and brittle hair.

Short hair doesn't need as much oils to keep it healthy, where as longer hair will absorb more of the oils your scalp produces. Fine hair absorbs less oils, thick heavy hair absorbs more. Adding styling products can also add to the build up in your hair, so it needs to be washed out every day. Many of the chemical ingrediants can also attract dust and other air born pollutiants, so you may need to wash it every day to keep it clean from that.

You have to be the one to judge when your hair looks and feels like it needs to be washed. Consider your hair type, length, texture, products being used, and then figure out if it needs daily, every other day, or even twice a week washings. Use your best judgment, and when in doubt, talk to your stylist (or who ever cuts your hair) about what is best for you.

Unless your hair is very short and you use alot of product (gels mousses, etc) washing every day is unneccessary and can cause your hair to be dryer than it would be if you did not wash it every day. However most people wash everyday more out of ritual or just because they feel they can style their hair better if it is freshly washed. If your scalp is oily and you wash everyday, you will inadvertenly stimulate the scalp to produce more oils. If your scalp is dry, you will dry not only the scalp more but the natural oils that the hair needs from the scalp will be washed away. try washing every other day for a while and see how your hair responds. if you feel that you need to get it wet to style it, (or just feel the need to "get it wet" everyday), try using condition as a "shampoo" and "lathering" it through the hair. You may find that your hair responds better if you let it rest from shampooing for a day two or even more.

Yes and No!

Yes because your hair produces natural body oils which re hydrate your body kind of but .......

No because you are cleaning your head of all your dirt and sweat!

If you do plan on washing your hair everyday i would recommend that you use a gentle shampoo as washing your hair every day can irritate your scalp so try and find a gentle shampoo for everday use which also rehydrates your hair and maybe even a matching conditioner? I would suggest head and shoulders, or sunsilk or if your want to splash a bit of cash Tresemme!

I don't think it's bad to wash our hair everyday, but once to twice a day is enough. I have read a report on a newspaper a few months ago. It stated that washing our hair daily is good as it keeps you clean. It's more hygenic. But it's not good to wash too many times of course. Just keep it twice a day is enough. I wash my hair once a day normally. If I go for any sports game, I definitely wash my hair twice to prevent it from having foul smells. I hope this helps you. :D

It depends on what kind of shampoo you are using and your hair type. Some people need to wash their hair every day because their hair is oily and they have a scalp ailment. Others can get away with not washing their hair everyday because their scalp is dry and most shampoos on the market is too harsh.

Typically... you should wash every other day.... why are you washing every day? Do you feel oily? If so... use a clarify shampoo one wash per week, and you should feel that you'll get a little further between your shampoos, as this will help balance an oily scalp. Washing daily can dry hair out terribly.... Hope this helps.

Yeah it is actually..I heard this on the news a long time ago (they were running out of stuff to talk about i guesS) and I think about it everytime I wash my hair haha... They said that repetitive hair washing everyday can cause you to lose hair...And it's not because of the soap it's because of the actual scrubbing of the hair. Some people scrub really hard and that's not good for maintaining hair either they said.

ive heard it isnt that good. i dont think its really necessary to wash your hair everyday, unless your hair is prone to greasyness.i have really long hair, so its a nightmare to wash everyday since it takes so much time to dry and style, so i just wash it every couple of days and its fine. when i go in the shower i just move the head thing down so i avoid getting my hair wet.
ive heard that when you wash your hair all the time it strips it of its natural oils which makes it not so good

My opinion would be yes. I think shampoo dries out a person's hair. I think it is better to wash your hair only 2-3 times per week. Check any hair website and you will find the same advise.

Washing every day strips hair of natural oils, if you do want to wash every day use a mild shampoo.
