Taking into account the writings from the book of Revelation, is it right to consider itself the only Church recognized by Jesus Christ?
In the book of Revelation, Jesus holds the seven stars (the seven angels of the seven churches) in his right hand, he walks in the middle of seven golden lampstands (the seven churches) and he addresses the letters to seven churches to announce his return. Doesn't this seem in contradiction with those churches that sustain to be the only one recognized by Jesus Christ? This is a passage from the Catechism of the Catholic Church: "The Church Is One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. This is the sole Church of Christ, which in the Creed we profess to be one, holy, catholic and apostolic." There is also written in the Revelation that who pretends to have superior authority, in reality, is lying.

Here are also some examples:
Revelation 2:2I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.
Revelation 2:9I know your afflictions and your poverty—yet you are rich! I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

Don't let the book of Revelations get to you. It means nothing to us modern folk.

You see, the entire book is a system of symbols, a sort of code to fellow early Christians. For instance, if I'm at the airport and I say into my Secret Service walkie-talkie "The eagle has landed." I'm not talking about a bird but the arrival of an aircraft containing a specific guest.

The same is for Revelations. It is all code. That whole 666 mark of the beast thing? That's a warning about a then-current emperor.

The historical-critical interpretation also elucidates a central, pastoral message from Revelation relevant to the modern world. While interpretation of meanings and imagery is limited to what the historical author intended and what his contemporary audience inferred, a message to Christians not to assimilate into the Roman Imperial Culture was John's central message. Thus, his letter (written in the apocalyptic genre) is pastoral in nature; though the symbolism of Revelation is to be understood entirely within its historical literary and social context.

While most of the Bible is historical fact, books like Genesis and Revelation only serve as myth.

I believe the 7 churches mentioned are 7 groups of churches. These letters are written to each church, but the others are to follow (IE read) them. I think these 7 churches represent the church age. If you look at the last 2 churches, I believe you can relate that we came form the Philadelphia church age and are now in the Laodicean age. Look at the "luke warmness" and the compromise in the world. I am convinced we crossed over into this age about 3 years ago.

Well, no where does it say what those 7 Churchs are. They could even be Islamic or Hindu or Mormons.

I'd be more concerened about what YOU do in the here and now for that will keep you OUT of the book of life.

Be the best person you can be.

Are you claiming to have superior authority?

Is the book of revelations itself claiming to have superior authority?

Seems a bit self-contradictory to me.

Regardless, thanks to the cluster illusion, such vague statements can be interpretted literally hundreds of ways as suits the situation.

there are different ways to interpret various Biblical Passages depending upon ones point of view. therefore a " Thank you very much " is due you for expressing your thoughts but I'll believe what I believe, anyway.
