There are many types of zipped files and you should first know using which software they have been compressed and then use the same software to unzip / expand them. From the name you say zip I would presume it should be a file done with Winzip or its earlier version Pkzip for both of these and many more softwares winzip provides the decompress facility. Hence download and Install winzip and simply click on the zip file and it will be decompressed. If it is a .cab file of windows then you have to use the windows expand command anyway make some research and you will succeed.

use the unzip command on unix or use winzip on a windows PC

use winzip to unzip it. itz quite idiot-proof once you download the program.

or use winace, if your compressed files ends with .ace
