Acts 4:32All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. 33With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. 34There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.

I don't think many Republican Christians like this bit of the Bible.

A rich Christian is much more of an oxymoron than a gay Christian.

I had friends who lived in Born Again communes with those Communistic beliefs and one drew the line at letting them keep his car and he's one of the finest Christians I ever met.

Every communist I ever met all embrace it because they believe they will be not only part of the Proletariat (house leadership committe) but they'll be top dog. The moment you suggest to them that they'll have to roll up their pant legs and pick rice all day long they just shrug you off.

In every organization someone has to clean the dirty toilets and you rarely see the top dog doing that.

Hi there, this is the impossible dream made an actuality that greedy, self centered Godless folks can`t even admit to have happened, weren`t those early Christians something special or what.

Communism?

You're joking... right?
Not in a million years.
I will not have an equal share of the community wealth if I have the means to improve my lot at the expense of others. Life is a competition, and I intend to come out on top.

Communism only works in small communities. It doesn't scale well. A household might get along sharing everything. However, it hasn't worked on a larger scale because it tends to dampen any will to get ahead. It takes away the reward for doing well.

With my adult children living with me it seems that to an extent that is exactly what we are doing (not always with a cheerful heart).

I think that passage represents heaven where we as believers are of one heart and mind. We do not own things and things do not own us. I aspire to be the essence of that passage but I fail but in earnest I continue to challenge myself to give more.

Great question!

Honestly, I'm not quite ready to do this. At that time there was a lot of persecution. I believe as we get into the tribulation this will again be the way of life for believers.
