Hey brtwar200...,

There are 4 Donald Paynter's in the Family Search site, but none match your fathers birth date. This is a good thing because if he were listed there, it would mean he was deceased.

So, then I look in the White Pages, and there are 19 found. Some have other middle initials, so can be eliminated. You should check them. All over the US.

OK, I check the social security death index using both last names and did not see him listed. All though there were many, many men with that name, none with that birth date. Do you know why he used a second last name? What state and town he was born or even raised in? Most children born in that era have many siblings.

I found my husbands biological grandfather just last week with just a name and a possible city he lived in back in 1942. Come to find out he also lived in Nevada. My husband's grandfather was born in 1913 and was hiding from the MOB and using alias names through out the country. He was very hard to track down. This is why your question has totally freaked me out! I would love to help you if I can.

I spent 8 months looking for my own birth father. BEST OF LUCK!!!

That name should be very easy to research. Go on Google and write in geneology. This site should ask for the family name possible place of birth. You should be able to find this because the name is fairly common.

You can try using Zabasearch!

You can find it at http://www.zabasearch.com/

You don't say how he vanished. Is there any chance he was kidnapped or there was foul play? Have you filed a missing persons report with the police?
