Hi thanks for being interested, because some people seem to think you have to pick a country and be from there. That bugs me. Well I'm Canadian. My father's side grandfather was born in England. My father's side grandmother was born in Switzerland. Her father was romanche speaking but my grandmother's niece had a gene test done that showed through her female line we are descended from ice age Swiss cave people. My mother's side French ancestors came to Canada in 1634 and intermarried with the Cree and Ojibway people, so we are French Metis. There is also some scottish on that side. I think our English ancestors were more closely related to the Celts too and not the Anglo Saxons, because scientists have found people in an English village who were directly descended from a 90,000 year old man who's remains were found not far away. I am interested in cave people.

I am German, Swiss, French, Irish, Scottish, English, Swedish, Osage Indian, and I'm sure when the research is finished, if it ever is, I can add a few more nationalities to the list.
My European ancestors arrived in the States in early 1700's, escaping the persecution of their religious beliefs. The ancestors from the UK arrived late 1700's to mid 1800's.
In some lines I am the 10th generation here. And of course being of Osage decent, would be several more generations back!
I am finding out it's difficult to trace the Women. And I want to find out more on who they were! It's going to be difficult too, to trace the Osage line.

Born and bred in the USA, as were my parents and their parents. My father's father's father came from the south of England to Canada about 1850. One of my mother's ancestors came on the Mayflower, another founded Yale University, and if you go way back there was William the Conqueror, who can aptly be described as the father of his (adopted) country. You can get a lot of fun answers here -- there are lots of people from India, and some from Australia, Britain, Canada, and the Middle East, to name some that I have located.
