Yeah and a majority of the nasty ones are religious.

I do not think that the Devil is winning the faith battle. I also do not think that people are nasty and horrid than good. I look around and I am amazed at how thoughtful and nice people are, just in the last 24 hours

Hertz guy actually came and got my luggage out of my trunk and put up on the bus

Young man sat next to me and told me about his adventours in the military (my son just went to bootcamp, it was very reassuring)

The three people at the toll booths I drove through all had a smile and a cheerful word for me

I made an error on my ticket out of the airport and the employee told me it was no problem and took care of it within minutes

There is a story of two families that was having much trouble and decided to leave their home. As the first family approached a fork in the road a young man sat on the fence and the family ask what kind of people would they find if they took the left fork. The young man asked what kind of people did they just leave. They replied good hardworking people, struggling to do right - and the young man stated that is the exact kind of people they would expect to find down that road. The second family came along and asked the same question, the young man asked his same question, this family responded that the people were nasty and horrid and the young man replied that they could expect to find the same thing.

Looking for good or bad is a habit - there is plenty of nasty out there but there is a whole lot of wonderful and nice out there also.

Hardly...

People just aren't being oppressed as much as they used to... and those people getting "nasty and horrid" as you put it is just their natural instincts shining through where formerly it wasn't allowed.
Many people are becoming more true to their human nature... or rather their animal nature... and realising the competitiveness in the open rather than hiding it in fear.

Its not a sign of the end, but rather a sign of progress.

As a mere addendum: There is no devil. There is no good. Faith is irrelevant.

The Devil may be having certain success, but he is not winning, as long as there is one person loyal to God the Devil is losing, that's why the Bible says, that the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone (1 Peter5:8)If he were winning he would not need to do that!Yes this is part of the sign of the end that is soon to be upon us.

I don't really believe that is true, we just constantly hear about the evil, the media seem to go into a feeding frenzy with it, but we don't hear nearly enough about the good that goes on in the world -- it doesn't make good copy!
I have found for the most part, that if one treats individuals with courtesy and respect it is returned tenfold. Offer up a smile, and it is generally returned, consider others and be helpful and it will come back to you. Satan is not winning, and never will.

Nasty and horrid, just like pure and sweet, are in the eye of the beholder.

Your morals may or may not be someone else's...even those who share your faith.

Evil always wants to be bigger than it is. The Devil wanted to
be God. And evil wants to be the center of attention, blows
itself up out of proportion, and makes us think there is only
evil, and it is so big, there is nothing we can do about it!
And too many believe it!

Maybe it is religious irrationality that is winning the battle.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Steven Weinberg

"Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."
