What do guys consider as flirting. Especially if he is an older man. Is it just being friendly. Or am I reading in to it too much.

If the guy touches you when talking to you he is flirting and therefore likes you.
Being friendly doesnt always mean he fancies you.
Maybe ask a few questions and show an interest in his personal/private life, if he asks you some questions about you then he is interested.
Even if you drop a hint or make a joke about taking you out for a drink his response will give you an idea.
Be careful with this one though as it could end up being very awkward!

If you can't tell outright then he's not flirting.
Some older men act in such a way that they like to think they've still got it, or they aren't sure at all how to act with a younger member of the opposite sex.
Be careful, and if in doubt just say harmlessly "Why John (whoever) are you flirting with me?".

Joking and teasing are signs of being flirtatious. I don't know if you can read a person's eyes. But, people generally cannot hide what they feel in their eyes. So, you can tell if a guy likes you or not by looking into his eyes.
