Everyone seems to go on about how much it hurt. I got one and I don't believe it hurt very much at all, just an uncomfortable scratching. Keeping in mine everyone's different thresholds to pain, I'd like to know how much it hurt you if you've had it done.

Pain is subjective and everyone has different tolerances.

What you described is pretty much how I've described it to people. The only variance I've had is the upper portion of my hips and up onto my stomach, it feels like little papercuts - very sharp cutting pain, as opposed to the typical scratching/stinging pain.

Usually by the time I'm in the chair for 10-15 minutes, my adreneline has kicked in, I'm in a conversation with my artist, and I don't really notice what's going on. The adreneline factor is also what allows some people (like myself haha) to endure sessions as long as 4+ hours. Depending on how long your adreneline can hold out, you can pretty much take the "pain" of it, since your body is actually blocking the pain from your mind.

I have three tattoos: one on my ankle, one on my stomach and one on my back, between the shoulderblades. The one on my back didn't hurt at all. I had a degree of pain with the other two, though the pain from my ankle tattoo had more to do with my other leg falling asleep due to the way I was sitting, than from the tattoo itself. The one on my stomach did hurt, but I could breathe through it. The artist who inked me said the stomach is one of the most sensitive places to get a tattoo, known to make grown men cry...LOL

I got one on my shoulder-blade a few years ago and it didn't hurt at all. Felt like a Bunch of little mosquito bites, I even convinced my sister to get hers there because she was nervous about the pain. She said that it didn't hurt either. Now the one on the top of my foot hurt pretty bad, and my whole foot was swollen for a few days

I extremely have 2 extremely tremendous tattoos on each and every shoulder blade and both took slightly over an hour. The discomfort wasn't too undesirable, it did damage notwithstanding it develop into tolerable and it wasn't the worst discomfort ever (unlike getting ribs tattooed-ouch!) so it basically relies upon on how extreme your discomfort threshold is i think notwithstanding it should not be insufferable, i'm particular you'd be able to sit down down through it.
