Most Baptists consider dancing and music to be a sin.
Dancing and music are mentioned in the Bible as being good things though.

Islam forbids dancing and music but not totally.. Dancing is not allowed when there is a free mixing of boys and girls and when it causes someone to forget himself, but formusic, So long you do not get carried away untill you forget yourself.. and the music must not be against any religious belief..

Islam, any musical instrument involving string,blow as guitar and flute is forbidden. Drum as such is allowed.
Singing is allowed among men,for woman only among themselves.
Dancing, im not really sure, but if between unmarried couple is haram.

Islam does not allow dancing between a man and a woman. But they do allow dancing with same sex partners. I don't know about you but I think that's a bit too strange...perverted if you will.

Cromwell (He was a puritan) banned music, dance, any sort of celebration, or anything fun during the reformation. Boring lot!

well in islam only certain types of dancing and music is haram.like for example in islam freak dancing with a girl or guy is not allowed.but other innocent types are.

I suspect it is Islam but do not think many obay it fully. music is meant to lead to sexual sin that is why it is forbidden.
