Thanks for the great laugh. Like all good humor, there's more than just a grain of truth to it. If there's a group of people with less of an idea of how the world works than college students and their teachers I've never met them.

I was in the Army in Vietnam and would rather have been anyplace else. After I returned I went to college on the GI bill. My year in Vietnam gave me a pretty firm grip on reality.

good one. :) Some kids do both though...ROTC. One of my dearest friends will finish his senior year this year and after serving all his summers, will now be an official U S Marine. I'm proud of him. Got another one in the Air Force and one more in the Navy...Sailor & Marine are brothers.
I worry about them too though. Don't get me wrong. My Air Force friend spent 2 years in the Gulf War the first time and 1 year in Afghanistan recently. I pray for them and thank them also. If it weren't for them and other men and women like them, God only knows what kind of world I would have to live in...perhaps a Nazi type world or a Sadam regime...probably wouldn't be good whatever it would be. Regardless of what the libral media says, peaceloveing pacifists would NOT hardly take over the world.

After graduating with my AA from a midwestern Division 2 school, I came in the military, and each, equally has pro's and con's. College and going through that aspect of life opens your mind to different types of thinking and rationalizing. While the military opens your mind to different cultures and places in the world.

Reality is way over rated. Another way to ask this question could be:
Would you rather be in a war zone where lots of unknown individuals are trying day and night to kill you or would you like to be basking lazily in the freedom that this individual provides for you.
Hard choices.
