things that say -- compaq owner, system, local service , network service. which ones can i end process on without messing up how my computer is running? by pushing end process, will that prevent the programs from opening upon startup? there are many things in the processess area and i have no idea what most of them are.

nope there all part of windows, compaq owner, that is to do with hp network services dont end. system dont end ur user account id dont end . compaq owner<< that will be ur id antivirus and firewall dont end .system idle process not end. antispyware dont end . win logon dont end .wscnty dont end that is windows security center . yahoo messenge .msn if ur not using them you can end task. if u see power dvd if ur not using that you can end that task it always load up .

see u can view the process details by simply entering services in the run command this will open up the window stating each service now u can decide easily the services u dnt want to run
u can safely stop the services by checking the "hide windows servies "
