it's greek, and i think it comes from the word "aftos" in the sence of "self"

so it would mean the one who is closed to himself...

yes, it's from the greek word autos (meaning self).. you can find the word autos in many words (for instance automobile.. something that moves "by itself".. no horse in front of it). Autism is a psycholigical/medical term used for people who don't or can't relate to the outer world. Autism comes in many forms, from total lack of any communication (verbal or otherwise, no reciprocity) to lighter forms of social inadequacy, as in not being able to understand humor, figure of speach, or being unable to pick up emotions of other people.
