I promise I won't pull the ball away this time, Charlie Brown! --Lucy van Pelt
But seriously, just wave, tell them you're busy or make them come to you. Pick up the phone if you notice them gesturing at you and either acknowledge by the "come here" sign or smile and nod and pretend to talk on the phone. They'll either wait, lose interest, or best of all, come to you! That way you're not put out by their rudeness quite as much as if you had left your seat for such bad treatment. Cheers!

I would like you to know that there are somany different poeple we have in the cybernatic world or life. But more people change for the worse, so you should expect that from many. I am sure you are a different since you can notice changes that many do not consider an ethical immorality. If I'am in your shoe iwill just take a step in moulding poeple that were so lucky to come my way. Yes, because to know about this problem is to have a wisdom. Do you Know why? because many poeple do not see it as a problem but rather a new way of doing thing that justify been modern.
So please learn to be more wisdom like: Teachebility and receptivity you will enjoy.

That is extremely rude and very annoying too. I hate when people do that. Even worse is when they walk away or start a conversation with someone else while you're still talking.

Definitely rude and speaks more of the person's bad manners than how they feel about you.
Whenever that happens to me, I touch the person's shoulder and say as I walk away - "Hey, nice talking to you - gotta get back to work - catch you later" with a smile. It usually doesn't happen again after that.

Well, the next time someone calls you over for a chat, tell them that you're too busy tight now, then just sit and do nothing for a few minutes and see what they're reaction is!

They are not egocentric, they are brown-nosers. They are trying to get maximum exposure with minimal effort. Generally, they have no clue how rude it is.

I wouldn't engage in conversations with them , because they are not listening to what you are saying , if they split to talk to someone else.Apparently their thought process is as erratic as their behavior. As for the etiquette part they are self--absorbed , and it is rude and insulting---let the ' emotional vampires ' talk to themselves .

that is rude. i think those kinds of people just want to use others to talk with or try to insult them. i have had people do that to me and i think they just want to make me feel degraded or something like that.
