about two years ago i was in the most perfect relationship with this man. i think he was afraid of commitment because once things started gettin really serious he started to back off and we ended up breaking up. i was devistated. he was my first true love. he was the first guy that i experienced the way it feels to really love somebody. the problem is i am still really not over the whole thing. he is the first thing on my mind when i wake up and the last thing on my mind before i go to sleep. i cant shake these feelings i have for him. im afraid to date any other guy because im still hoping that he will come back to me. and plus i dont want to fall in love again and get hurt. does anybody have any advice for me? if so please share your opinions because id really like to know if this is normal. thank you

Hi Girl, I am int he same situation as you are except i was with this guy for 8 years and trust me i know how you feel...the moment i open my eyes in the morning, he is on my mind and during the day and ALL the time. He doesn't give a rat's a$ s about that though even though I have told him that. He thinks i am lying...but can't help feeling the way i do...all the advise i can give you is try to shift your attention elsewhere..other activities...but i know it is hard..i have been tryign to do that for ages...but he would never leave me and today n the morning when i spoke to him i told him he's still got my heart he said that he threw it down the toilet a long time ago..how mean!! anyways... perhaps..u can make urself reallyy busy with school, work, hobbies....?? or perhaps just date someone??

Its totally normal to feel this way it's your first, you kind of never forget that but you can't stop your life now because of whats happened, its hard to say wether your heart will get broken again or not. Maybe because you havn't had anyone else since thats why your feelings are so strong still but they should fade with time. My first love went on for 2 years then he broke it off with me for another girl and it took me ages to think of anything else but him and the same as you i was scared to date someone else in case he came back to me, but of course he led me to believe he was several times and just dumped me on my---.so once i learnt i met the most wonderful guy and we are still together today we have been together for 6 years and i have never looked back, i still know who my first love was and that will never change.Only time will tell i wish you all the luck but my advise is to move on as much as you can and make a life for you i bet he is looking after himself.

After 2 years, you need to move on. Date some guys casually. Don't rush into something ,but waiting for something that probably won't become what you want is a waste of life.

oh common, stop those feelings, it's hurting you and you need to move on. Go out... socialize and find a new love. two years is long enough to nurture that broken relationship. it was not a perfect one, otherwise that man is with you until this time....

He took what he needed from you. You have to move on now and give life a fresh start.

I don't believe there is a first love and then a second and third .... Its only one TRUE MUTUAL LOVE.
