I can only state my perception of Islam from two angles 1) from what I have read in the Q'uran and in books about Islam written by Muslims and 2) by the Muslims I have met. That said, overall the religion seems to teach about what all other religions I've studied teach and that is that we should be compassionate towards one another, care for one another through the giving of charity and being hospitable towards one another. That there is a spiritual dimension to life and that it involves looking deeply into one's own heart/self/soul and that God is not found "outside" of ourselves, but instead is felt/known from within. That we are all linked or connected to one another and therefore should act respectfully and peacefully with one another.

I'm no expert on Islam, though. There is still more I certainly could learn (as is the case with many other religions).

Peace be with you.

I'ma a muslim Girl, and i'm very thankful to God because i am! i'm feeling Good as a muslim, i feel that this religion is giving me everything i want, it's very logic and can give u good answers for every question, the best thing, is that it's not dealing only with faith and belief issues, but with all our lifes issues, mariage, work, society, sciences, relationships, and even economy(the islamic banks and economy are growing even in GB)
as a girl, i feel respected and treated as a human who have a mission in his life.
when we talk abt spiritual issue, as a muslim u feel deeply satisfied especially when u practice ur religion in a regular way.
let me add finaly that the thing i like the much in Islam, is that we don't need to ask somebody for forgivness or to confess, u shoudl just pry God directly, just between u an him, u can do whatever u want, and nobody will know it except God, get the idea?

I am recently trying to learn more about Islam, because I've accepted employment at a company whose owners are devout Muslims. I have a high respect for anyone whose belief is sincere as manifested in their behavior.

I feel that Islam is misunderstood and steriotyped a great deal, especially lately. Like all religions, there are lessons taught that are not only worth learning, but repeated in other religions, as key points, and there are texts which are sometimes misinterpreted to justify behaviors or beliefs that openly contradict what seems to be the major message of the faith.

Any extreme interpretation of any religion can lead towards intolerance of other beliefs and peoples - no religion is immune from those who will warp it's message to suite their own needs. I feel that people need to bare that in mind and stop being willing to give in to prejudice and ignorance.

i perceive islam as a religion. as such, it probably has some followers, as most religions find it stylish to have these.

my perception on whether it's good/evil/inbetween? i really don't care one way or the other. see, doesn't affect my everyday life. i know 2 muslims. they're ok. we don't talk religion.

It scares me...I often wonder how such a great and noble religion has gotten such a bad reputation. It really is not that different from major religions of today except that it moves and motives people to do extreme things.
