The Halal method of slaughtering animals has been scientifically proven to cause a quicker and less painful death when an animal is being slaughtered.
It also ensures that the blood of the animal is being drained properly (blood is the carrier of diseases).
Western countries can ban Halal meat if they don't want any Muslim residents or tourists at all. Let's be realistic, Western countries do depend on Muslims as consumers. In New Zealand, more than 80% of the beef and lamb is Halal. So if you have tried NZ Beef or lamb there's a high chance that you've eaten halal :)

Yes they should. The practice is inhumane and cruel. There only seems to be no difference where in reality in the ritual slaughter of animals, the throat is cut and the blood drained. The animal suffers in pain and terror as its life bleeds out. In non ritual slaughter, they are stuned and die quickly without pain.

I have "ritually" slaughtered many sheep before. Not because it was religious or anything, but because we didn't have a giant factory that is needed to slaughter huge numbers of animals. Not everyone sees the need to puncture the brain before slitting the throat.
I just like to go to the grocery store and buy quality meat. To get quality meat, you have to slit the throat.

Do you even know what these terms mean? They mean to drain all blood from the body of the animal. Look up the science. The way your people slaughter meat gives you colon cancer and heart disease.
