You can have your cake and eat it, but it would only be polite to share it with me. Go on! Give us a bit! I'd share mine with you.

It's a matter of physics. Just as 2 objects can not occupy the same space at the same time, a single object can not occupy more than one space at the same time. Therefore, your cake can not occupy your stomach and the plate at the same time. However, it is possible for half an object to occupy one space while the other half occupies a totally different space, so you could cut the cake in half and you could have half a cake and eat half a cake too.
And you were right to put this question in the mental health category, because mentally you want to eat the cake, but cake has a lot of fat and sugar, so it isn't healthy.

I've managed to have my cake & eat it for most of my life - metaphorically AND in real life. You see, "can't have your cake & eat it" is only another way of saying that you can't have everything your way in life - but if you push hard enough (& make enough cakes), then you CAN indeed turn life in your direction.
*You may lose a lot of friends along the way, but it IS possible.

You can not have your cake AND eat it for one the following reasons:
- The cake is made of poision
- The cake will make you turn into a frog
- The cake will make you impload
- The cake is the most holy of foods, thus eating it will cause blassfulmy to the god arkvoodle (lord of the sacred crouch).
However this is a way to avoid this and have your cake and eat it:
-Call it a biscuit (didnt say you couldnt eat those}
-caulculate pie, apply it to the cake to find its raidius, divide by the total weight of the cake and share with friends (in absence of friends, alter ego's and split personalitys are acseptable).
-Cut the cake in half so you can have twice as much.

You are the only one holding yourself back. Do you eat the cake while it is fresh and can be enjoyed or do you remorse over the spoiled cake and wonder what it would have tasted like?
