Psychic abilities goes into a lot of categories.
Being able to sense things around you normally cant see...being able to hear peoples thoughts and emotions...seing the future...speaking to creatures other than humans...etc.
Some of these things, like seeing the future, seriously clash with the main religions because these religions support the faith that humans do not have special powers, if they do see the future in a dream or a vision, its because God has informed them, not because its an ability they can tap into.
I guess this is why solid research into psychich abilities shows that they can vary and are not always around for a person to use as he/she pleases.
Giving way to proof that: psychic abilities are not in the control of humans but rather in the Power that allows them to happen to certain people.

So obviously not true Christians. They believe the only spirits are Satan's workers and they give you the power to have this ability so that you will be pulled away from the truth into false religion.

Churches like Seventh Day Adventism think such powers are of the Devil.
Buddhism DOES NOT endorse psychic powers. They cultivate a 'God conciousness' but this is not a psychic power - but rather 'oneness'. buddhists believe psychic powers do exist, but attatchment to such 'trickery' is a form of distraction from your spiritual journey. Not evil, but unnecessary....

Christians have Gifts of The Holy Spirit, which are the "pure" forms of Psychic phenomena, as they are based on union with The Holy Spirit rather than unclean spirits. They are:-

Prophecy - Speaking the words of God. This may predict future events, or it may be God bringing His word into a situation. The impure version is known as channelling or mediumship.
Discernment of Spirits - This allows a person tho identify the spiritual forces that are influencing or controlling a person, place or situation. People with the impure version are known as sensitives or empaths.

The true religion only follows God's Word only. Mankind do not posess psychic abilities on their own these abilities are given to some humans by demons or wicked spirits and come mostly with a great cost to them of maybe even life.
Do not be misled, playing with this type of thing is dangerous! wicked spirits are very powerful and very dangerous, and they use these so caled talents to mislead people and get them in!So be very carefull stay away from spiritism and mankinds greatest enemies!

The only recognised religion I know that have active psychic and mediumistic teaching/development programmes are Spiritualist Churches.

Tibetan Buddhists do. The Dalai Lama has an official oracle he consults.
The Spiritualist church does.
Most psychic people hold a variety of religious beliefs. Whether they get approval officially from their church is another matter.
