Think about it. The church was currupt for 1400 years before good ol Luther came in and split it all up. What makes you think that in those 1400 years all the writings and what not are authentic and not mixed with lies and what not? Oh and don't try to say they were authentic because the papers were dated back to the first century because then you must admit that carbon-14 is real (and that means that the earth really isn't 6,000 years old OMG!).

We've got Biblical manuscripts dating back as far as about the 2nd century B.C. that pre-date what we recognize as the Catholic Church, not to mention so many ancient documents that COULD refute the Bible we have today if it were inaccurate, but come on...where's your evidence? What's your basis for saying the Bible is corrupt? People throw ideas like this around all the time, but if there were any documentation to prove that the Bible has been corrupted, really now, can we see it?

The Catholic church didn't write the bible. The Catholic Church is not Christian. The Catholic Church was an attempt to resurrect the fallen Roman Empire in Western Europe. Original Christianity was around for 500 years before the Roman Catholic Church was even formed. The Roman Catholic Church was founded 538 A.D by Justinian I of the Byzantine Empire (Eastern Rome).

Martin Luther was a Roman Catholic because this was the only accepted Religion in Europe at the time. If you were anything else you were burned at the stake. He was taught the Bible for many years. Martin Luther received his doctorate in theology through the Catholic church. It was through a trip to the Vatican that Martin Luther saw how wicked the Catholic Church really was. Luther was well taught and versed in the teachings of Christianity and saw that Rome didn't adhere to any of them. This lead Martin Luther to leaving the Roman Catholic Church when he spoke up about the things that he saw. The Catholic Church tried to get Luther to recant his Christian beliefs because he did not condone the actions of the Catholic Church. Luther explained the doctrine of justification through grace. Martin Luther also translated the bible into German. A word for word translation from the english translation. The english translation is a word for word translation of the original hebrew old testament and the Greek new testament. Greek was the language of commerce when the new testament was written. Luther never added to the bible.

In regards to carbon-14 which is used in carbon dating you should read this article:

http://www.drdino.com/articles.php?spec=73

In short the older an object is the less carbon-14 it will have. The half life of carbon-14 is 5730 years. If you want the science read the article. The guy who wrote it is a phycisist.

To all Muslims: How can the quran be the final word of God when the new testament was written more than 500 years before Mohamed wrote the quran? Muslims are jewish wanabes. Islam became a religion 600 A.D. after the Roman Catholic Church to.

History is a great teacher.

Well, considering Martin Luther was as corrupt as everything else and actually changed parts of the Bible to suit his needs, then sure, I guess he 'purified' it. His 99 theses were aimed at how the church was acting and not at the translation of the Bible, although that he didn't agree with much either, much like the rest of protestantism today. If you look at the Catholic church now, Luther's theses would have no ground to stand on as they have all been incorporated into modern Catholicism.

Also realize that the Christian church is actually the offspring of some battles regarding what the church should be. Try checking out gnosticism and ancient Christianity. and as to the validity of other texts, realize that it isn't just the Bible saying the Bible is true, which I agree is questionable, but many of the other texts can be validated through unrelated writings of the Greeks, Romans, Egytians, Persians, Jewish, etc. Although most of these will validate Old testament before they validate New testament.

Very Good question, Now here is a very good answer, During the time of the Aposltes of Old, there was not even a catholic church, But the spirit of the anti-christ was starting to ride that White Horse in Rev. 6:2 if you notice that horse rider had a bow in his hands, But he did not have any arrows, That let's me see that he was a bluff, Even in the times of the Apostles, they even said that the spirit of that anti-chist was starting to be seen, But there was no such thing as a catholic church back then, In 312 They Had the Niacene counsel where they adopted the trinity teachings, & change laws & doctrines, from 500 to about 1500 is know as the dark ages, & then the reformation started with Martin Luther, That 1000 yrs from 500 to 1500 AD was also know as satan's millennium. & the dark ages Just because the catholic church came along & changed the True doctrine to doctrines of lies, Does not have anything to do with, if OUR bible is correct or not, The question should Lay with is the Catholic church correct, & that answer is NO, but the bible still remains true, It has withstood the times through the dark ages until now, God's word never fails, Mans law & doctrine will fail. And yes this earth is older than 6000 yrs. as a Christian, I am one that also believes in a Prehistoric time, & a Ice age, It is all there in the Bible, If prople will STUDY THE BIBLE & not JUst READ IT, they will see it. I would rather read & study 2 verses all day long & understand those 2 verses then to read a whole chapter & not understand one bit of what I read.

Seems u have so much miss understanding the issue, first martin luther did not correct the church, second, the catholic church is not the only church that has the bible, so even if they were at some point living under the rule of currupted popes, this has nothing to do with the bible which is preserved by all other churches.

I don't know what the different divisions of Christianity teach, I do not associate with denominations, I go as written in God's word...Christ is not divided!
If a teaching can be documented in God's word, I know it's of God. Every teaching I hear I check it out in the Word of God. I trust no man as no man should trust what I say either...
Please check me out, document what I say in the Word of God!

Just some questions I have:

Does the Catholic Church teachings line up with God's word, as written? Does the doctrine of the Catholic Church line up with God's doctrine? These are things to be considered.

Anything being taught as God's way must be found in His written word....If it's in there, it's of God!

the catholic church did not write the bible and never let anyone in their church read it so it is not relevant that they are wrong on many things.
the bible was written by Jews over a long span of time and may or may not contain truth regardless of the hostory of the different religions that have relied upon it.
The new testament should never have been attached. Each should stand alone on own merits

Because Christ promised that not even the powers of hell would prevail against His Church. Nothing would bring His Church down -- including corruption and including Luther's misguided "reformation."

The powers of hell have often tried to bring down the Church -- in the form of corruption, scandals, schisms, wars, "bad popes," priests who molest kids, bishops who cover it up.

All of these things constitute the powers of hell. They've been around for centuries. But the Church has withstood them all. And it always will -- because Christ said it would.
