Alright,I just have a couple of questions for you;
1.Do you ever make mistakes while writing in English, for example
instead -appreciate- you write -apreciate-?
2.Do you ever use the wrong tense like instead of past perfect you use past simple?
3.Do you ever make mistakes at all while speaking English?

Because I have friends from Australia and I communicate with them very well,I think...still I'm curious.
Thank you!

P.S.I'm jealous of you,I had to learn English for 4 years to know how to speak it right and you didn't that isn't fair!

1. I do if I'm typing and miss a key.
2. There's a past simple tense??? Are you making that up??
3. I do when I mean to.

P.S. Most people I know will speak english their entire lives and never get it correct and it's the only language they'll ever know. You speak about a billion languages and probably reasonably well. We should all be jealous of you. ;)

All people will make mistakes when they communicate whether it be in English, Chinese, French or whatever language is their mother tongue.

1. The naswer to this question would depend on the person's spelling ability. If a person struggles with their spelling then they probably will make mistakes but somebody who is a better speller will probably make fewer or no mistakes (This goes for all languages though!!).

2. Some people will use the wrong tense and others will not. Again this is down to the person's grasp of the English language.

3. I do not think that I make many mistakes when I speak but again some people will and some people will not.

You do speak English very well so well done on studying for 4 years to achieve this. If you had not mentioned that English is not your first language I would not have known. I am sure it would take other people many years to speak your mother tongue too so do not worry. Those 4 years have been well spent as you now have a good grasp of the English language!!

I'm native English, and I'm still learning the language! There's new words everyday. I just read the dictionary, and find words like "frangible: capable of being broken; easily broken."

I don't usually make tense mistakes, but yes, everyone makes spelling mistakes. I sometimes muddle my words up, or say them wrong because I don't know them well.

Everyone makes mistakes, since youre still learning people will forgive you more easily.

I'm learning Japanese at the moment - one character wrong and the word changes completely!!

Edit: Oh, and check out the spelling in some of your answers! Simply terrible! Proof that even the most intelligent person turns into a moron when it comes to being coherent on the Internet.

If it only took you four years to learn English, you have nothing to be jealous about.(see there, it should be " about which to be jealous") Very few of us born to the language care about using it correctly so most of those who do so, did learn it as a foriegn language. Spelling mistakes are often the results of being in a hurry or just being lazy. Most of us make them. When speaking, we say things the way we always heard them said in our region. Now there is a move to accept this as non- standard English and to heck with teaching standard (proper ) English because even the teachers don't seem to know what that is anymore. People born to English have no assurance that they will be able to communicate with other English speaking people. Congratulations for your accomplishment.

nobody is perfect, I make a lot of mistakes but here on the Internet I can always use spell check, I don't hand write to much of anything ever so I don't have to worry about it, as far as where I am supposed to capitalize or put commas or parenthesis or periods or say start a new paragraph I do a very lousy job just because I could care less and I get my point across, anyways don't be jealous, just be proud of yourself

well not appreciate for sure...it definately has 2 p's ....but in other words, yes....i always hate words containing "ie"....sunno whether is it ie or ei. eg : wieght etc...
and since i noe french aswell as a second language...i kinna tend to write danse instead of dance...:S
tenses are easy.
i could really jus go on and on about this
speaking english ofc, we do, who doesnt do mistakes, don't u make mistakes talking yer own mothertoungue?
Its ok if you make small errors, most people will automatically correct you...in which case you'll end up learning the language well anyways :P

I'm going to agree with everyone on here -- EVERYONE makes mistakes in their mother tongue. No one communicates perfectly, so the answer to all of your questions: YES!

The best thing anyone can do is continue to learn and develop every skill and become the very best that they possibly can.

And there's nothing to be jealous of. I spent 12 years learning French as part of my school curriculum and I wouldn't DARE use my language "skills" to a Francophone. Be proud that you can communicate in more than one language, not jealous of people who can (probably) only speak one.

Go ask a mad person whether he is mad. I dont think you will hear a yes for an answer. Just in that same way, your insistance that only those people whose first language is english should answer this question is futile.

My supervisor who was a Scot (& rather proud that he is a native speaker of english), was going through my thesis for any mistakes. He couldn't even pronounce the word EFFICACY, let alone knowing what it means.

The Brits themselves admit that people in India speak english better than people in UK.
