As soon as you reach your hand out to touch him he drops to the floor and rolls over giving you his belly. So I give him a buzz belly. It startles him but after he realizes what I am doing he will roll over again and want his belly rubbed

I have an Alaskan husky an you have to get down to his level. With those type of "pack animals" there always has to be a alpha male and female. An lucky for us Smokey sees my husband as the alpha male .He comes when he is called,he sits when we say sit, he howls on command, lets you shake his paw when you say paw, an even goes up on his hind legs when you say up.But smokey hasnt always been that way when he was a pup he was horrible. But we spent lots of time with him and lots of research and even talking to his breeder a few times.

Depends on the dog, some will actually roll over, some just lie down, others will lower their heads or look away from me.

Dogs are "pack" animals and it is important that they see you as their "pack leader". When they roll over on their back, exposing their underside and neck, they are showing "submission".
