It is a known fact that the number one fantasy women have in bed is one that leaves them dominated though the extent of it may vary from woman to woman. My question to men is this : I am always told by men that they prefer the woman-on-top position and could this be because the whole domineering thing can be tiring if not overdone? Would men say they prefer domination had the majority of women agree that being on top does it for them in an ultimate fantasy? Or does it just boil down to effort?

The fantacy of dominating each other remains only un till they learn the real game where pleasing each other remains as the goal.. In woman top position a man had hardly anything to do and obviously he loses the control on prolonging the session.. so in most cases it ends up in an early ejaculation...
Here both gal and boy should understand that it is a guy who is required to prolong the session so he should be allowed to take a suitable position if the gal really wishes to prolong the moments of pleasure then she should allow him to take a control.. This is a need rather than a domination...

Woman on top stimulates both woman and the man better than other positions. So men like it.
More men suffer from premature ejaculation at some point or other. Woman on top helps to prolong that much longer.
May be these are the two important reasons for men preferring this position.

OK, from experience sometimes I like this position but not always. If the woman has a firm body and tight bottom, then it is nice to hold on to the buttocks while thrusting in harmony.

I dunno about most of the domination aspects but I can tell you this. Its just hot to have a woman up there bouncing and sweating and really enjoying herself. Its like a bonus just for the eye candy alone. Most men can last longer that way to so that's another plus to it, and for many women it is easier for them to get off.
