Why don't we eat other meat-eaters???

They say that eating meat is good for you.

IF this is true than does'nt logic dictate that the flesh of lions, tigers, vultures, wolves, hyena's etc... should be the
"creme' de le creme" of all meat dishes?

Why has'nt someone cornered the market on carnivore meat then
and why are all those herbivores so damn peacefull?

Serious answers only please...

Do you eat any seafood? Majority of them eats "meat" Most fish eats other fish. Lobsters and crabs are scavengers, they eat rotten meat for a living, that didn't stop us from putting them on the BBQ?

If it's only mammals and birds that you are thinking of, then it's probably because the preditors are at the top of the food chain and the numbers are far smaller than the prey. You just go and try to find someone that will sell you a vulture. LOL.

If you think herbivores are all peaceful and docile, then you are not seeing them in the wild. I wouldn't get too close to the elephants, rhinos, buffalos or anything with antlers just to name a few.

Last, the market is cornered for carnivore meat, they are called "Chinese". Snakes, cats and dogs are common. Wild games are premium, if you have it, they'll eat it. Go visit sometimes.

The meat of predators is usually very lean and muscular and doesn't taste too good. Herbivores have a lot more fat and are therefore more tasty. I ate dog in China and it tasted okay. Crocodile is pretty good too. These are bred for food though and don't taste too strong. If you think herbivores are peaceful then consider that cows and hippo's are among the most dangerous animals in the world!

Well vultures and other wild animals are protected and don't give you much protein. They don't give you any nutrients at all. Pigs, Sheep and cows on the other hand do have nutrients. If you would eat a wild animal all you would get is:FAT

We eat crocodile and snakes both of which are carnivores. Pigs will eat meat if they get the chance and some cultures eat rats which will eat anything. I agree with one of your other answers; most canivores would probaly be tough and taste even worse.

I think the reason for this is that we are an agricultural societey and the cost of feeding meat-eaters would be much higher than say cows, or sheep.

Animals like tigers are protected species, that's why you can't eat them. Not sure about the others though.
