Hi there...some cats will still eat even if they have a virus, but it depends on the severity of the infection. Transmission of feline diseases can be a small possibility however it's minimal as most diseases are generally passed by direct contact or sharing bowls or the litterbox--saliva, blood or sexual contact. There's a possibility she may have a medical problem which can only be diagnosed by the vet since it's quite difficult to assess through the Internet. It could be something as simple as parasites, a complicated gastrointestinal disorder or something more critical.

Out of fairness to you and your kitty's health it's best to entrust the care of your cat to a licenced medical practitioner rather than anyone here on Yahoo Answers -- myself included. Furthermore, only an evaluation done by a vet lends more genuine information than any of us could ever provide or guestimate.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Try to get some rest even though you are worried. She needs you to be strong to care for her.

Have you taken her in for an examination by a veterinarian??? That would be the quickest, easiest, and most cost-effective way of getting an answer to your concerns. If she has not yet been tested for FeLV/FIV (a simple blood test) and intestinal parasites (by microscopic examination of her feces), that would be the first thing that would need to be done after a basic physical examination. There's a good chance she has a protozoan parasite called coccidia, along with intestinal worms like hookworms and roundworms that you can't see with your naked eye. Please make an appointment for her ASAP. No one here is going to be able to diagnose or make proper treatment recommendations. That requires a full history (a bunch more questions for you to answer) and actually putting experienced hands on the kitten to assess its health status.

PLEASE do not give her any type of cow's or goat's milk.....even if boiled, etc. That will only cause other problems that she doesn't need. Just encourage her to drink water. You can add a little bit of clear, unflavored Pedialyte to her drinking water, which will help....but be aware that many cats don't like the mineral taste. Drinking plain water is better than not drinking anything.

And whatever you do, please, please, please, PLEASE do NOT buy vaccinations from a tractor and farm supply/feed store!!!! If she is not healthy enough to receive them, they can mess her up even worse, by unduly stressing her immune system. Vaccinations from sources like that have about a 50% failure rate in establishing protection against diseases anyway. Don't waste your money on them, or jeopardize your kitty's health by using them. (Same thing with OTC dewormers, etc.)

No, it couldn't be from your sister's cats, as viruses take much longer to develop than 3 days..You can give her this to help firm her stools..
bring a cup of regular milk to a 'scald' or barely boil. when it cools a bit, skim off the film on top, and discard the film (lactose) Now the milk is fine for her to drink. Pour her all she will drink of the warm milk, before she is fed...do this every 4 hours or so..and it should firm the stools, and ease her bottom.. My vet recommended this to me many years ago, and it usually works...he would grin, and call it a little magic..

She may be sick or she may have gotten ahold of something. As long as she is drinking plenty of water, she'll be okay until you can get her to the vet. Eating isn't as important as drinking so don't worry if she doesn't eat, her stomach maybe be too upset to be hungry. Just make sure she's drinking and watch the stools for blood or worms. It's very scary when our animals are sick, I know, but try to stay calm for her sake okay? And please get her vaccinated. If you have a Tractor Supply Company near you, you can buy it to give it to her yourself for between $5 and $10, easy to do. Good luck!!

She needs her shots, maybe she just ate something funny. If it bothers you so much, call the emergency vet and see what they say.
