ok i have a 2002 nissan sentra se-r this car runs great but there is one small problem that i have been meaning to ask...
when i shift from 1-2 its fine... but when i try and shift to 3rd it goes but sometimes it seems like its hitting something in the process of it doing this shifting. it only does this to gear 3-4 going to the 5th is normal... just weird how when i shift to 2nd and 3rd it hits something...

I would also state it is about time to change the manual transmission oil. If you already did this change the oil change place might have used Hyploid gear oil instead of Manual transmission fluid. Check Section ( 9 ) page #2 owners manual 75wt 90wt gear oil #4 GL4 This will make the syncros balk and make the shift klunky. It also would not hurt to inspect the four motor mountings.

My old Corolla does it too. It's just the guide plate ill shaped for my shifting style. But you might see if you have a hydrolic clutch, and make sure the reservoir is full. Mine takes DOT III brake fluid, but be sure you make sure what to put in yours if needed. That caused some issues for me at one time as well.

sounds like the syncro between 2nd & 3rd has gone this means box rebuild sorry
