Because a square is more functional than round (if you're talking about cases and boxes). A square box can carry things other than pizza. Notice that pizza is not the only thing that comes in a square box. A cd is an example. Square is more useful, practical and handy. Hope I answered it right! :)

The reason that pizza boxes are square, while pizzas are round is an economical one. The box is square since it is easier to mass produce them that way, and can be cut out of cardboard sections with almost no waste. At the same time, they stack flat when unfolded, and even when folded are easily stackable and of uniform shape and size. It's all about the money saved making them square, not round.
And it costs more to make the pizza if it's square - round is cheaper since they're (pun intended) cutting corners....

Round boxes would be one big pain in the neck to make. Square boxes are pretty simple, but would you really wanna fold a round box? They are easier, cheaper and more stackable and the people making the pizza don't have to put them together. Plus, pizzas fit in them.

Because the cost of making "round" boxes is relatively higher than the average joe square boxes. It takes more technique.
