I don't have a master.

Unlike the sheep that blindly follow what their preachers tell them to do I CONTROL MY OWN LIFE

I am my own master..I control my own life. If I am good it is because I want to be a good person and treat others as I would like to be treated myself. The only "spewing" of words here seem to be yours..others normally think before speaking and do not spew. I am to say what is right or wrong by how my actions would make myself and others feel and whatever cause and effect may come from those actions is entirely my responsibility. I don't need a god to tell me all of this..all i need is my own good judgment.

Here's a question for you to think about then:

Why do we have to have a master?
What is good?
Why should be pay attention to our words anyway?
And who is to say what is right and wrong? God? Does he arbitratily make up ethics, as he seems to in the Bible, or is there actually an absolute good/bad dichotomy that even he has to follow (which doesn't seem like he does)?

It seems to me you are only trying to start an argument, and with a little more forethought you would at least be able to regurgitate what it taught in Sunday school.

Perhaps you should pay more attention to "the words that spew from your mouth". "Better to be silent and thought well of then speak and be thought less of."

Why should I be good? Because I don't want to be bad! I like being a good person. Why do I need a God for that? Why does anyone need a "higher power" to tell them how to live? I have no outside master, because I am not a slave. I am my own master. I say what's right and wrong based on my education, instincts, and social mores. Who are you to call me a heathen?

Atheists are born with good and righteous souls and do not need to be scared by imaginary supreme beings into behaving well. That is why jails and prisons are full of religious people and not atheists. Religious people are born with defective intelligence and lack any sense of morality. They admit to being born sinful. You should listen to atheists because they can tell you right from wrong. They also are happier than you and do not feel guilty about having fun.

And, if there is a God, atheists will be his favorites in heaven because they are the smartest, coolest, and best looking of all his creation.

Why would anyone need a master? And they're good because society decides whats good or bad and everyone has to live in society together. Life is much easier if everyone is nice to each other, don't you think?

You don't need a god to know that, just the tiniest of brains.

You know the answer to this quesiton, as soon as you wrote it, didn't you?

Your "god" is to whomever you give most of your money and thoughts too. This could be sex, cars, or other items- including money.

What is right and what is wrong, is determined by the One True God. You know this.

Now, since you've managed to make the "heathens" angry, please explain your sin of throwing "Pearls before swine, lest they turn and trample you"?

Society produces laws, people in that society follow those laws, those who do not follow those rules get punished or removed from that society.

In a nutshell.

Are you saying that, if there was no god, you would feel no reason not to go around putting babys' heads on spikes? I avoid it because I feel it is wrong, you avoid it because you fear divine retribution? I feel you are not the most moral one here.

Each person is the master of their own destiny whether they likke it or not. One can set their own moral values. Each individual determines what is right or wrong but usually the answer lies somewhere in between.
