Please consider that we have a 20-month old, so we can't be too adventurous. But which locale will have more accessible and interesting sites? This trip will be from Hong Kong.

Singapore would be my choice since you've have only 3 days to spare. You can visit lots of places of interest without having to go through long bus ride just to visit one attraction. It is also safe since you've have your 20 month old with you. Its very family orientated country too...Try it..

Singapore not Thailand for a 20 month old child. Singapore clean and very safe. Lots of beautiful sites and places to visit. Good food and very friendly people there.

I recommend you to choose going to Singapore rather than in Thailand. Singapore is not that big, you can go anywhere in Singapore without a hassle. Singapore is very clean and easy to commute as well and it is more advisable since your bringing a 20 month old child so, that would be a good advantage in your part and would not be hard for you. Going to there tourist spot is very easy and relaxing as well. Enjoy your trip!!!

i would say Singapore if you prefer modern life then nature its a small island, beautiful in its modern life style and prices (expensive compare to Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia as a matter of fact its one of the most expensive country in southeast Asia) :)

Thailand definitely good chose but 3 days are not enough its big beautiful and cheap.

you have mentioned you have 20 month old so i would say Kuala Lumper relatively big beautiful and safe prices more expensive then Thailand cheaper then Singapore :)
its public transport are very good trains taxis buses.
you can shop see the tallest building before Taipei 101 and its still the tallest twin towers in the world :) have fun with your trips

Lets see, Singapore, big crushing hyperactive city or -
Thailand - (big country with cities or country beaches),
like Phuket or Bangkok ? maybe Phuket
Actually, 3 days with an infant . . . you will barely survive the airports.
Better to go someplace scenic in Hong Kong I think.

Thailand for me is more for relaxing on beaches and shopping at night markets, so i don't think bringing a 20month old will be too convenient, i would suggest Singapore, its much more safer

I would definetly choose southern Thailand beaches your 20 month enjoys water, sand, sun and beach. Just protect his/hers skin.
Singapore is a concrete jungle, that has none of those. Better for adults.
The areas for "single men" in Thailand are mainly Bankok and Pattaya avoid them, all others good for families.
