This really REALLY depends on what it is you are looking for in a man. If you are looking for smarts you might start out with the muesuem of natural history. If you are looking for funny then you could go too a comic book store (REALLY! Who doesn't like laughing at those dateleless freaks!) If you are looking for an animal lover you should start at the local dog walk park.
Thing too remeber here is that in this day and age you are empowered too go looking for some one. You don't have too wait for a suitor too drop by. Figure out what you are REALLY intested in and go looking.
If you really want a guy that is just loyal and will always be their for you ... nerds and geeks are found world over. They are an untapped resource. You can fill your shopping cart in one quick trip too the collectable card joint.

The key to meeting guys is just showing up. Show up, show up, show up. Accept any and all invitations by your friends to attend social events, go out to dinner etc. Even when you don't feel like it. If you're going to read a book, read it in a coffee shop. If you're grabbing food just for you, don't get take out, sit up at the counter with a good magazine. The more "out and about" you are, the better chance you'll have of striking up a great conversation with a cute someone.
Also, I found that joining an online dating service helped too...not necessarily to meet that certain someone, but just as a way to have many dating experiences so I always had "something" going on. You know the expression "when it rains it pours?" All you need to get a date....is another date.
I've tried Match.com and Eharmony.com...both have their plusses and minuses, but definitely gave me hope that contrary to popular belief, there are LOTS of great guys out there.
