Our lot comes from being given the gift of free will, and our stupidity of revelling in our sin. I suppose we might have been "happier" being made idiot puppets, but God has more respect for us than we do for ourselves.

Have you ever been ecstatic coming across an answer on your own or doing something right when you could have chosen wrong... that's the feeling I suspect God wants us to experience.... and when we feel that he rejoices as well.... it is a Fallen World because of what we do... NOT God.

There is a remedy and only one remedy--- to accept the gift of His son Jesus Christ... an out that you've probably heard about many times.... but what more can be done to convince those who won't accept... wish I could make that choice for you, but that's yours! God would love to have you know what happens when you do....

I just answered a similar question - so I'll post it here too:

John 9:1, 2 reads: “Now as he [Jesus] was passing along he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him: 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, so that he was born blind?’” Some who believe in reincarnation suggest that since this man was born blind, his sin must have occurred in a former life.

But whatever it was that gave rise to the disciples’ question, the answer Jesus gave must be the deciding factor.

He declared: “Neither this man sinned nor his parents.” (John 9:3)

This contradicts reincarnation, which implies that disabilities depend on sins from a former life. The point that nobody can sin before being born was also made by Paul when he wrote about Esau and Jacob that “they had not yet been born nor had practiced anything good or vile.” (Romans 9:11)

The reason people suffer & die is because we inherited imperfection and sinfulness from Adam & Eve. When A&E listened to Satan's lie and directly disobeyed God, they became imperfect sinners. "Through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin..." (Romans 5:12-15)

Satan challenged God's rulership, saying that humans didn't need God to help them. Satan lied to Eve and encouraged her to eat the forbidden fruit. The challenge that Satan raised needs to be answered before God destroys all wickedness in the Earth.

This example describes it well:

Imagine a class full of students.
The teacher is showing the students a method of solving a complicated problem.
One intelligent, but rebellious, student raises his hand and challenges the teachers method of teaching.
Implying that the teacher is not capable, the student insistas he knows better. Some other students think he is right & also rebel against the teacher.

What should the teacher do?
If he throws the rebellious students out of the class, what will be the effect on the other students? Will they not believe their fellow student was right? The students might lose respect for their teacher, thinking he is afraid of being proved wrong.
Suppose the teacher allows the rebellious student how he would solve the problem.

This illustration applies to God & all creation in the Universe.
God has allowed humans to rule themselves under Satan's guidance - and look where it has got us.

The teacher in the example knows the rebel is wrong. By allowing him the oppurtunity to try to prove the teacher wrong, the whole class benefits. When the rebel fails, all honest students will see that the teacher is the only one who can lead the class.

Once you get done with all the Christian propaganda about how problems our our fault for disobeying, or that they are put there for us to learn from and get to the question you will realize there are really only a few answers, and none seem to really answer the question.

Here goes: Working with the concept that God is all-good, all-powerful, and all-knowing (a fairly common Christian concept of the Judaic-Christian god, although Jewish people may have differing sentiments regarding this) the question boils down to this: Why do God allow it to happen at all? He is all-good - he can't abide evil in his presence, yet he is supposed to be omniversal (meaning everywhere at once). He is all-powerful - he can do whatever he wants whenever he wants, so does this mean he doesn't want to? He is all-knowing - he knows everything, which often includes the past, present, and future.

Any attempt at justifying God's condonement of these problems violates one of these 'omnis'. If it is so we can learn from them, then that violates the all-good qualification. It is never debated whether he can disallow them, his power to stop them is always taken for granted, and we can't possibly allow that he wouldn't know about the problems because then he wouldn't be omniscient.

There is no real answer to your question if you hold onto this conception of God. If you limit his power you can, but then you would be burned as a heretic. That, or you could question the existence of God in general, but that will just get you in more trouble.

This is a question philosophers have been wrestling with since the conception of God came about, or questioning depending on your point of view. A few thousand years of asking this question and still no answer, too bad Yahoo can't provide that.

P.S. The answer that we deserve it doesn't sound like a very forgiving God, does it. Makes me question whether a prerequiste for getting to heaven would be living through a hell on earth? But wait, you can't get to heaven by works or deeds, well, except for one or two, but who is counting.

God has a plan to save mankind and all His creation. When Adam sinned the whole world becomes corrupted and will continue to have more and worse problems until mankind is redeemed first. This follows the principle that when mankind sinned the world is corrupted but when mankind is totally redeemed (when Jesus comes back the second time and mankind receive their new bodies made in heaven) the whole world will be restored. God has promised to restore all things and there will be a new heaven and new earth.
Although God is all powerful, He is also a God of justice and whatever principle is established He will follow it Himself. That is why creation eagerly awaits for the revealing of the sons of God for after that it will also be restored completely (Rom 8:19 -21) God's treatment for the sick earth will come only after the sickness of mankind is completely treated. So the earth will continue to suffer sickness and all things bad until that Day. In the meantime God will provide protection and help to His people who accept Him as their Shepherd and are His sheep and hear His voice Who can direct them to provisions (green pastures), safety and peace (still waters) and godly living (paths of righteousness) that Psalm 23 mentions. In this same Psalm it is only when we walk our own way out of God's direction that we walk into the valley of the shadow of death. Even there God promises His protection and blessings.

I thought this very same question many times while reading or learning of some of the horrors of the world and people.

Someone gave me a simple answer a long time ago and I believe it. GOD GAVE US FREE WILL AS A GIFT!

It is too bad that certain people and groups use it in a way that does great harm.

Ooooo Good question! Good question! I have thought many times about it, and I have come to the idea (not conclusion) that God is just an observer, not a participant. The participants are us (the human beings, animals, etc.) and we have freedom of doing whatever we want assuming consecuences. We are constantly facing two options: give importance to the world's things or give importance to God. If we choose the former, we have to assume consecuences. If we choose the latter, we get PEACE. I have that very clear, but my question is: how can animals, crazy people, mentally challenged people, babies, etc. make a decision? Your question is so good that I want you to give you my email address: max_villalobos@hotmail.com, so we can continue the conversation.

Without problems and suffering, why would we want to come to Him? If everything was perfect, we would never appreciate the good times and thank Him for blessing us. We wouldn't know what it was like to live in trying times, so we wouldn't be grateful of the great life we had. God deserves glory and honor in every situation.

because god gives us a choice on how we live our lives, and the problems in the world are all man made. That's like asking why did god make that person an alcoholic? God didn't, that person decided to drink alcohol, and became a addict. Alcohol isn't made by god it's made by man. coca leaves are made by god,but when refined by man can be made into cocaine. Marijuana is made by god,and not physically addicting, however man has modified marijuana over the years to increase T.H.C levels, and make it more mentally addicting.

He doesn't make it happen, we do. Yes, He could control everything we do, but that is not His purpose. He gave us the ability to make our own decisions - as a person and as a people.
Did you ever consider that satan might have a hand in the messes we make. For sure, he does.
