it depend on many things
1. you need to know how is his personality.
2. does he get ready for engage or get married.
3. can you forgiving his bad habit.
4. get to know does he like to have the baby. if you want , but he doesn't want. that should be a big problem.
p.s. get to know enought to get married, because it's a long term relationship, if you get married with someone, it means you have to stay with him forever..............don't make the regret.

we dated for 6 months before we got engaged.
we were engaged for 4 years before we got married.

My mother saw a beautiful girl in a public place, she went to her and said I want to engage you for my second son, she accepted her gold ring, my mother called me and said I did so and so, I accepted her advise to marry her. I did not see the girl until the day of marriage, now I am married for 11 years , I do not regret a single day of my married life. How is that for a change !!!

im not engaged yet, but i think living together is extremely important, i had a roomate in college that i absolutely couldnt stand, but when we left college we were best friends, we just honestly couldnt live together... same can apply to a bf/fiance... you have to find out if you are capable of living with them before getting married, so i suggest living with them before you get engaged cuz it would be a big mess to break off an engagement, thankfully me and my bf can live together, but i've heard many horror stories from couples, it can be messy, just take your time in getting engaged, life is short but not that short and not worth the stress if it can be prevented, thats my motto lol

3 years, and not married yet. but we lived together for 2 years; and i think that is important because some people are just not meant to live together! lol

i dated for one and a half yr before getting enagaged. I will be getting married end of this yr so it will be half a yr after enagagement.
